    Did not get the scent. It was overwhelming for me that first time, but I haven't smelled it since. What the hell is it?

    we smelled syrup at atlantic and washington at 10:45p last night. i've only noticed it at night. it's been driving me crazy!

    Atlantic and Washington, huh? There's a brewery about a block away on Courtelyou, between Atlantic and Fulton. They do beer for Heartland Brewery. Could the smell be coming from there?

    mystery solved! i have a friend that brews beer and she says it DOES smell like syrup during the process. good catch!
