  • oh anyone got anyone to recommended to install water meter.
  • I like Aladin Plumbing. They take forever to bill, but I have found them to be reasonably priced and very professional.
  • Hlad plumbing is good. Sometimes they lag behind in on time show ups , but they do get the job done and they do it right. You might want to call 311 and ask if the city still installs water meters for free for private residences.

  • Stanley Lewis. Look him up in the yellow pages. He's located on Prospect in PH. He was my parents plumber and my husband's grandparents used him as well. His son Steven runs the business now. He is my goto guy for licensed plumbing needs. They put new gas lines in my house last year, and did a great job.
  • bad news is half the guys i called havent called back yet. and this morning same thing with diffrent company. waited from 10am to noon and guy this time shows up at 1pm. he told me i need to replace watermain and everything else. he doesnt do watermains etc...

so i just gave up and call a ethnic company. instead of waiting the next day for service. he got there in about 2 hrs. i was like you serious. you gonna be there 2 hrs from now. he was like yeap. so he show up and quoted me the same prices as the phone calls. but showed up!!! and i paid him right there and than. he'll start work tomorrow morning yay. fastest service ever!

only reason i didnt call them before was my parents are freaking racist! cause they are like dont use chinese blah blah blah(even though they are Lol)

Armchair I have been renovating also and I would just like to give you one little piece of advice - you should never pay for any type of home repair all up front and especially before they even start doing the work. Usually you give 1/3 to start, 1/3 in the middle and the rest upon completion. Also make sure you are 100% clear about what you are getting for your money. Lots of times they quote you one price but then as soon as they have those pipes off (and you have no running water) the job is "worse than they thought". :)
  • You should also check with NYS consumer affairs and see if your contractor is licensed and if said contractor has any complaints against him/her.
