Wtf is going on in the space next to Save on 5th?

Between Save on 5th and the True Value there's a building that has been under construction since I moved to my apartment in July. There was a lot of activity around xmas time but I haven't seen anyone out there lately. Does anyone have any clue what's going in there? Its kind of a neat building, I hope it's something cool.

  • There was a thread on this just a little while ago, Months ago I had asked the Leopoldi guys about it (in the hopes they were expanding!), and i thought they told me some sort of salon was going in there. Seems like a mighty long time for a salon, so, maybe I, or them were wrong.
  • Was there? How did I manage to miss that... but yeah its just been sitting for a while all boarded up and making the block look like shit. Its a stark contrast to the 6 new BRIGHT RED NEON LIGHTS that rachels installed across the street...its like vegas over there now. I'm sure their upstairs neighbors are beyond thrilled.
  • sweet thanks...seems like no new updates
  • i also noticed over the weekend that a sprint store is moving in one block farther down 5th on the same side of the street. i think it's the block where that old guy sits his stuff out on the sidewalk.

as much as i hate cell phone stores (and sprint, in general) i have to say that the improved storefront seemed to look better than what was there before...there are a couple of really rundown looking buildings on that block...

in these times, we should probably be happy when just about anything moves into an empty storefront...
  • I love Sprint! But, hate Sprint stores, lol
  • A while ago I was told that it was going to be a spa? I think the person who told me used to work at the butcher, but I can't remember.

As much as I love/hate the flames at Rachels...I am glad I don't live there. Every night must seem like a 1950's film noir in that apartment.
