I wonder.............
if people eating in moutarde know it used to be a funeral home................
if people shopping in Union Market (6th ave location), know it used to be a huge bodega where a man was shot...................
if diners at La Villa know in it's last life, it was a pharmacy.................
What do you wonder?

how overweight people get out the exit of C-Town on 9th. Seriously - I weigh a good amount less than the "average" American woman and feel like I have to hold my breath and turn sideways to get out of those poles at the exits (the ones to make sure people don't steal the carts).
-
I wonder why more places don't have Sunday happy hour like Barrio and Steinof.
-
Yeah that C town entrance is a problem. Only one awkward way out with a shopping cart and another awkward way out with a stroller.
-
I wonder why they didn't put benches for humans in the new dog run at the old JJ Byrne park
-
benches=pee spots.
I wonder if the cops will ticket people who insist on tossing their small children into the dog run (parents outside) despite the signs that say "no children". Maybe this belongs in the rant thread... -
Why would they be pee spots? There are dog runs in the city with benches for humans!
Well, I must say, my children go in the dog run but I am with them.
I wonder why people let their kids who don't have dogs hang out in the dog run while eating lollipops and then act surprised when you say something to them about it. -
I wonder why Bierkraft sells coffee beans labeled as Gorilla Coffee that are most definitely not real Gorilla Coffee beans.
-
I wonder why the F train sucks.
-
I wonder why my downstairs neighbor is such a weirdo and asked me to drill a hole in my floor to run a cable line down so we can "split" our cable. WEIRDO

And it was called the Colon Market, which always used to make me laugh, in an infantile way, whenever I'd see it... -
I was around when Moutarde was a funeral home, and then Mike & Tony's steak house (yum).
I wonder why all of the neighboring cats keep coming to my yard at night and talking (ok, it's probably because my cats are so cute) and waking my ass up -

I never saw it *that way* until I was walking down the street with a friend from California who busted a gut, so to speak.
Before that it was always unquestioningly just a Latino surname.
I wish I had a tshirt from that place
(the guy who owns Bonnie's has one...) -
I wonder when the G train will start making stops at the 7th Ave station instead of whizzing by every 15 minutes and honking.
I also wonder who is going to move into the giant condo building that is almost finished at 3rd Ave & 7th street and what they will pay for that. -

I never saw it that way either, I had a close friend whose last name was Colon and seeing the name of the deli just used to remind me of her. -
I wonder where all the kids who are going to move into all of these new condos are going to go to school since the zoned school is already jam packed.....
-
I wonder when the MTA will make the A train stop at Franklin Ave station (currently only a C train a stop). It would make the shuttle actually useful.
-
I wonder how those tens of thousands of Park Slope people eating at "Moutarde" and shopping for $14 olives and pita bread at "Union Market" and living in $3500/mo apartments manage to live such expensive lifestyles while at the same time having so much free time on their hands. That's what I wonder.
-
I wonder why some dog owners make the effort to pick up their dogs' crap, tie the baggie it's in, and then just leave the bag on the sidewalk...... they've done the hard part - it can't be that difficult to carry it until they find a trash can.
-
When ever I passed the Colon Market I always wondered if they sold Colon Blow Cereal.
I was a based on a Saturday Night Live commercial that almost made me shit myself
http://www.hulu.com/watch/10304/saturday-night-live-colon-blow
Now you can buy it for real
http://www.colonblow.com/
Maybe the more upscale Union Market actual sells Colin Blow -
I wonder why I never see any Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts around this neighborhood. don't kids around here join those organizations anymore?

There is a Girl Scout in my building.
I think they are mostly undercover. -
I wonder why sushi places keep opening. Are they trying to start some kind of price-cutting war?

Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts blatantly discriminate against little girls and boys respectively (by distinguishing between the two, remember the infamous "Lost Little Boy's Hat?) and thus they are not welcome in our post-gender neighborhood.
Not to mention, their uniforms are reminiscent of the military (another big no-no). -
i wonder why, when my college students get in trouble, i end up talking to their mothers.
i would have died a thousand deaths before asking my mother to get me out of trouble in college. -
I wonder why in this neighborhood where we have such great public schools (and with this economy too!), I just today saw someone inquiring about Berkeley Carroll for their kindergarten child at a cost of $26k per year!

I wonder why there are so many salons opening on 7th Ave between 12th and 15th. Are there really THAT many people walking around without a place to get their haircut? -

I wonder if when you say you hate your ex-girlfriend, you are actually stating that you miss her.
