Buttermilk Channel
In what is most likely an effort in vain to liven up this board:
Anyone been? Fairly new restaurant at the BQE end of Court Street? Menu looks great. LOTS of stuff involving bacon. Going to try and go this weekend.

You betcha. Chicken and waffles. It's lonely over here on this board, Mama.

I went with a large group. Everyone seemed largely happy with their orders, though a few of the dishes I sampled lacked some oomph. The sweet potato croquettes are wonderful; order many. Same goes for all the rest of the "snacks." I had the vegetarian jonnycakes which were quite good, but not super. Needed some salt and...more flavor. But they were well executed and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The burger eaters seemed to enjoy their food, as did the chicken & waffles eater. Stay away from the cider donuts at dessert; mine were very overdone and heavy. The ice cream floats were enjoyed by all who ordered them, though. Next time I'm totally getting the bread pudding. I asked the waitress "is the bread pudding very chocolaty?" to which she responded "yeah, it has lots of chocolate flavor." After I revealed that I wasn't a big chocolate lover she changed her story "oh, it is a subtle chocolate flavor."
Meh, it is worth a shot.
The specialty cocktails were good, too - something to offer for most tastes. The service was attentive but almost overly so - it seems like everyone shares every table there, so sometimes we'd have two or three different people ask us the same questions. Perhaps this is just limited to large group situations, though.
The place is also child-friendly, so for you kid-haters...be warned. There were two well-behaved young'uns there at my 6pm weekend seating.
In sum - I'll go back, but probably will make some different menu choices. -
This sounds bad:
The restaurant accepts reservations only for parties of five and up. On a busy night, the wait for a table for four can exceed an hour, the bar is standing-room only and the line for the sole restroom can be three- or four-people long. Companions who head there may go missing for a good 10 minutes.
Now this sounds deliciously amazing! Goat cheese and sweet potato, who would have thought! The best ways to begin are with the croquettes filled with goat cheese and sweet potato, or the previously mentioned appetizer tart, in which the ricotta is joined by delicata squash.

This sounds great:
bacon-wrapped trout.
Need to go, Mama. -
You need 5 people so you can make a reservation!

There will be no fighting in my apartment. Beav will need to use the "go get some salsa" ruse she used at Carmen's in order to kick Why's ass in a dark alley. -
