St. Johns St. Francis police action — Brooklynian

St. Johns St. Francis police action

I just stepped outside to walk around the block w/my daughter (2:00pm) & saw what I thought was just a guy getting busted, 1 guy handcuffed w/about 4 or 5 cops searching him, but then I rounded the corner & saw about 6 or 7 more cop cars. I asked someone who was watching if they were all for 1 guy, and they said they picked up quite a few people, which after seeing all the cars there were quite a few people in the back of them. Any idea what happened??

The drug activity on this street is rampant. I don't know which "type" you are referring to but my guess is you must mean the black familys who live here who mind their own business and probably prefer not to have drug deals going on outside their window.
  • i was one of the people that got roughed up by the cops (actually got smashed in the eys with flashlight) in this very instance you're talking about, and none of us were selling any drugs. The guy u saw get cuffed spent two days in booking for no reason, just because nosy people wont stay out of their window fingering the wrong people.
  • Sorry, not buying it. You have a mere eight posts to your credit and every last one of them is intended to incite others. I'm sure this is the latest identity of one of several trolls who frequent this board.

I only signed up tho this site because I did a google search on this same incident. You probably caused the whole thing. I see you're doing research on me like a true police. Minding MY business again, lol. Go back about your business, fam.
  • Oh, yes, I caused the whole thing. Yea, that's me. I still don't believe you and won't be the least bit surprised if all of your future posts are similar in stance and tone to the ones in this thread.

And what's my wife's 'type' again?

The righteous, the wise are often wrong.
  • At the risk of sounding righteous or even unwise in response to what may or may not be a troll, I am gonna toss in my two pennies to the mix here. There are more than a few people in the neighborhood and in the larger Brooklyn/NYC community who are interested in hearing about, are concerned about and/or help in situations where people are wrongly accused or wrongly arrested, etc. (I can think of the people here specifically: http://www.legal-aid.org/en/home.aspx , among others.)

I wouldn't assume that people are curious about police activity on their street or block simply because they are worried about their own safety, not that there is anything wrong with that reason necessarily. Similarly I wouldn't assume that people who criticize or ask questions about the police or who defend those accused of crimes are necessarily anti-police. Life is complicated and a lot of us are comfortable with this ambiguity or at the very least wrestle with our own conflicting thoughts on these things. In my lifetime I have met or known both cops and public defenders and I try not to make assumptions about either.

I realize that I sound as if I am preaching here and I am not a minister so I will apologize for the sermon and stop after one last thought---if you were among the group arrested or allegedly arrested and you have a story to tell about your experience, perhaps you could share your story here? You might find that you have an audience.
