When are we going??
Anyone been? Fairly new restaurant at the BQE end of Court Street? Menu looks great. LOTS of stuff involving bacon. Going to try and go this weekend.

So, did anyone gp? I have a date there next week and am curious to hear some post Bruni reviews.

Just had dinner here for the first time tonight....
Let me just say this: If you're the type of person who doesn't want to have dinner at the bar, get here real early. It would have been an hour and 45 minute wait otherwise, but my wife and I actually like eating at the bar.....you can snuggle more.
We managed to snag two seats within about 20 minutes.
Service and food were fantastic. From the beginning, everyone from the hostess to the bartender were accomodating as can be and incredibly well-informed. This is a very well run operation. I forgot the drinks we ordered, but they honestly made for the only mixed bag of the night. While they were incredibly tasty and well-made drinks, they were practically the size of shots.....for $10.
We had the cheese plate and a dish of the homemade pickles as a starter. I normally don't do pickles, but I devoured the bread & butter ones here. The cheese plate was your standard decent restaurant cheese plate, with some bread honey and......roasted grapes? Very interesting, as they came off tasting more savory than sweet. They also brought us what I believe were goat cheese and sea salt-filled mini popovers as the complimentary bread. REALLY yummy.
I had the fried chicken and cheese waffles. Awesome. The chicken was incredibly tasty and the waffles were just divine. My wife had the fish of the day, which was striped bass, with mussels. While she thought it was a great dish, it just wasn't her taste. She likes her fish less....fishy. I eyed someone else's burger, and it looked very good. Possibly too much bread, but that's for me to try next time.
Dessert was the pecan pie sundae.....ohmygod. Just trust me on it.
I think all this came out to about $100 for both of us, so not the world's cheapest dinner, but very much worth it. The place, in some ways, reminded me a lot of Cookshop down in Chelsea, except that Buttermilk Channel had 1000% more soul than Cookshop does. They also score major points for having an entire separate vegetarian menu.
Absolutely check it out. Easily one of the best new restaurants in Brooklyn, and one that deserves the extensive praise it's recieved. -
I went here last night. We had a great time and great food. My favorites were the sweet potato croquettes, the ribs, and the bacon wrapped trout. Had to skip dessert because we ate so many appetizers/starters!!!
Dinner and a lot of drinks for 3 came out to $180 after tip. I had a great time and would definitely go again.
Also, the wine list has great pacific northwest representation if that is your thing. -
Love this place.

this is one of my top favourites! I love it!! I had the duck meatloaf and it was perfect. make reservations!! even on weeknights!

The duck meatloaf is the best thing on the menu. The head cheese was uninspired. The chicken and waffles was not all that. My wife's mashed potatoes came with anchovy butter and it was disgusting. I wasn't that impressed but this was back in March. Haven't been since.

Forgive me, but I have to laugh that the head cheese was uninspired.
I've had many good to great meals there. The liver mousse is crazy. The flatbread is yummy.
You must have had an off day on the Chicken beacuse mine were tasty. All in all I think it's one of the better restaurants in Brooklyn.
