I hope we don't have to change this topic to Aji Going Soon."
-
there was a sign outside this morning saying they would be closed tuesday, march 3 and reopening wednesday, march 4.
-
Oh, ok- good to know. I was sorry we missed out, but went to Coco Rocco instead and had a really good dinner.
-
I was in there a few Fridays ago around midnight for a pisco sour and the place was PACKED. The live music was Brazilian and people were dancing up a storm! We barely had a place to stand and enjoy the music, much less sit! Piero told me that night that while January sucked for business, things were beginning to pick up again. I love this place and think we should keep trying to support it! Who wants to do dinner/drinks/music some night soon? Carmen and Duffy's sis, happy hour at Johnny Mack's followed by Aji?
-
I might be down for that....count me in.
-
I love Piero, so I'm in. Also, the bartender rules and the cornnuts!
-
We've got to do the Johnny Macks happyhour- DuffySis was asking me about it again today!
-
Friday? Monday?
-
I need to do a friday thing. Remember we going to Hooter's next week! whoo hoo.
-
Can't do this fri. Midweek is usually better for me but Duffy's works some nights...let me get with her and find out

Let's just PM each other to figure it out. We also need to make sure it's open. Maybe next week then... -

Slightly off topic - I was in Coco Rocco last night (Tuesday) and didn't see you! Nice meal - awful music.... -

Noooo way! I TOTALLY saw you. I even said to Daver, "that looks like Nomad!" He said no, I put on my glasses and looked again and thought that it wasn't! Did you change your hair???
You met some people who were already there, right? Totally saw you... -

If you are talking about the "recorded" music in Coco Roco that you are finding offensive then the way to avoid it is to sit in the fron table near the front windows. It is warm and toasty because there is a radiator there and the roaster puts off heat but the speaker there is either dead or at a lower volume than in the rest of the room. I happened to eat there 2 times last week (had not been in place for 6 months previous) and that table (for 4) was the only one that my husband was willing to sit at because the music was too loud and terrible in the rest of the space.
If it was live music.. just don't go there on the nights they have it. -
Coco Roco has live music pretty regularly for brunch. It's usually been a guy playing guitar accompanied by either sax, accordion, or another guitar. This past weekend there was a harp player. I like it all.
When the music is crummy, non-live stuff and is too loud, just ask them nicely to turn it down and they probably will. I've been with friends who asked that and heard others make the same request and it's always been done without fuss.
The current manager is eager to please. I think they're trying to up their business--the bf and I were given a survey recently about all kinds of stuff. -
Yea, no band- and the music ran the gamut of genres.
There was a hip hop tune that came on really LOUD- BF and I looked at each other and right then, a waiter ran and turned it down. They were very sensitive to the diners. There weren't that many of us, so the volume was an issue for a minute there...
