So is anyone getting together to toast to Bob anywhere in PS this weekend?

As lame as the Post is (it's a tabloid, not a newspaper), their journalism in this case was far better than the Brooklyn Paper. What they reported may not have been flattering, but at least it stuck to facts from cited sources rather than rumor and innuendo.
Don't shoot the messenger... -

It's a good idea, but I don't know that anyone has organized anything yet. -

Is there anywhere in particular that he hung out often? -

except they didn't cite those sources, or much of anything else -

Mamacita would know for sure. Maybe something involving Coney Island? -

They at least said it was from "police sources" although it's true that they didn't give a specific officer's name. -
i can't believe the brooklyn paper just made the post look restrained and professional.

They have brought GL up from time to time and say they will pass on anything that is organized. If you can't connect there, try Flatbush Gardener where a lot of the information is put together. -
mamacita has worked with him, i'm sure she'll update us.
-
The website is back up, I'm back as the administrator for it. Check there for updates and I'll post here too.
-
GL is going down for repairs and eventual server migration. We hope to have it back up sometime Monday, we hope.
-
thanks for the update, mamacita

Mama, just want to thank you for all you have done to get GL up and running again (and to keep it alive) during what has been a tremendously difficult time, for you personally and all of Brooklyn. Viva GL! -
Damn, SAD.
-
A great memorial is up on GL:

Brooklyn Up Close
For a Cherished Blog, a Death, and Doubts
By GREGORY BEYER

Brooklynites ponder the future of the Gowanus Lounge blog, founded by Robert Guskind, recently found dead. -
Agreed, very nice piece. About time.
-
A memorial is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at the Brooklyn Lyceum from 2 pm until 5.
-
The Memorial just ended. It was beautiful. On my recommendation there were lots of sprigs of cherry and pear blossoms.
Thanks to The Red Hook Ballfield's Rafael Soler for donating great papusas.
The speakers all made us cry. Of course I sobbed through my whole speech I can't even remember what I said.
Empty Cages Collective was there to take donations, and Lisa was a pleasure to meet.
(Also met Louise from OTBKB! She said Brooklynian hated her
) -
It was an incredibly moving tribute to Bob. It was also completely inspirational with respect to the Brooklyn blogging community and the blogging community at large, each speech increasingly demonstrating the importance of blogs given the current state of newspapers and their bias due to corporate ownership. And also showing that Bob was truly one of the best and what a huge hole he has left.
And Mama did sob throughout her entire speech. But it was a beautiful speech.
Wow. Very emotional. -
Also wanted to say the opening video montage by Blue Barn Pictures was amazing!!!!

The memorial truly was such a wonderful, beautiful experience. I would have preferred it to be a Roast of Bob, with Bob sitting there alive and well. But, nonetheless, he was remembered and adored by all.
And I was fortunate to meet many other wonderful people whom I was indirectly introduced to by Bob. -

Could it be this downright hilarious, First Amendment-protected parody?

MOD note: this parody did not originate with Brooklynian, it was something a member posted, maybe from the Onion paper
