i sure do miss the dh of yore, when it was all friends, photos and content... not endless debates on race, semantics, bullshit, whining, etc. oh well, things change i suppose.
My grandmother invented these boards! You don't know shit about semantics! In my day you had to wait till 5 hours into the debate to play the semantic card. In the snow. Don't even get me started on semiotics. Don't. Even.

    ::emoticon that means absolutely nothing::

    Am I Brooklyn or not?
  • I remember on old boards I get many click-through and customer intrested in buying products for enhance male performance. That was good time, now I hate site.
  • I am against change in any and all forms.

so the boards would stay the same but the main name & url would change? Fine with me.

As long as neighborhoods get their own board and there is a general board, I'm happy.

and now... back to the Clinton Hill board.....
  • as long as i can get first hand accounts and photos of people having sex on dirty mattresses thrown on the sidewalk, then who cares what the board is called! Wink

also, a prospect heights board + nyc generic + classifieds would be ideal in my opinion.

lol omg the picture. is it for real :p. i think the person who took it is a perv too lol.
  • Eh...most of the reason I come here is because it IS PH specific.
  • I'd rather keep the Prospect Heights in Daily Heights.

If anything, then, put up one big friendly splash page listing all the nabe-specific boards and then on every nabe front page (like DH) get a good banner going reminding everyone that, hey, there are other boards available for exploring the neighborhood, if only the subways ran on the weekends...
  • I come to the PS / PH boards because they are positive,, ie.. wine bars.. sushi places,, organic foods.. Where the Crown Heights board ( where I am ) is gang this,, murder that, vandalism here and there) in Fact I was threatened to night by a group of "young adults" that told me I should move out of their hood.. I rent, not own, so CH to me is NOT home........ For long.
  • Yeah!! Then I wouldn't have to always feel like the Fort Greene outsider intruding on your PH matters.... :)
  • Subject: bklyn boards...

i'm here everyday lookin through all the posts... its awesome! whatever name is chosen, i say keep the boards.

  • I love Bay Ridge. Shit, I love most of Brooklyn, yep, even Brooklyn beyond Prospect Park (believe it or not there is a Brooklyn between Prospect Park and Coney Island).

If you have a car, you may know what I mean.

or by bike... PH --> coney island is the best ride during those hot summer days.

  • Subject: KEEP EM!

Extremely local info is the future. Don't go tossing out this valuable service. Who has time to wade through the mess of other nabe's? Since there's a loyal 'following' here, I suggest that you simply assign moderator status for some of the regulars to save you the time.

I never managed to do that last summer, what with the extreme heat, the moving, the settling in...the first "really" nice day of spring, I totally will "take the day off" and ride down there, though. I'm sick of only seeing the "other Brooklyn" when I ride through the industrial wasteland to get to the UPS depot.
  • Subject: proposed changes to DH website

I love the "extremely local" nature of the information on the dailyheights site & PH messageboards and I wouldn't want to lose that.

This site is THE source for super-local PH information, news & scuttlebutt and, in my opinion, that's what makes it valuable and unique and keeps people coming back.

Please make sure that the proposed modifications to the site preserve the local nature of our DH-PH online world!

    Thank you!
