Just saw this place today. I'm not a comic fan, but I'm always glad to see a new biz open close by. Anyone been in and bought anything yet? Reviews?

Seeing as every other comic book store in the area went under years ago (Boys of Summer, Brain Damage, Comics Plus, etc.) it's going to be interesting to see if these guys can make it among these extraordinary rents.
-
judging by the rest of the shops that have moved in along that strip in the past 2 years, it would seem the pintchik guys are keeping rents modest...
just a guess... -
That comic shop on 7th Ave and Prospect is still around despite being way out in the south Slope.

The comic store on 5th avenue and 9th street has been there all this time. You know nothing. -
I stopped in on opening day, and they're still getting stuff together (books piled everywhere), but it seems like it will be a great shop. It's mostly trade paper backs with one wall of new issues.
And yes, this is now the third shop in the neighborhood, but they are catering to different clienteles. Galaxy on 5th is for superhero fans and kids who want toys and cards, Monster Factory is kind of horror movie oriented, so it's more of a boy's club, and Bergen seems to focusing more on independent and under the radar books. Plus, it's much more girl-friendly than the other two, so it might do really well in this location. -

That one is so nondescript, I forgot all about it.
Forgive me, unlike the rest of this neighborhood I'm forced to spend a lot of time taking care of these annoying things called "responsibilities," which tends to cut into my Razr scooter-riding and comic book-reading time. -
they have alot of limited edition graphic novels that should get people from outside the are to shop there.
-
it's really nice - very accessable to even casual readers.

You have to have your priorities. What could possibly be more important than the hilarious shenanigans of the Green Goblin ruling the world? -
Since it's already after 9PM, I wish it would hurry up and be tomorrow so I can check this place out!
