Favorite tattoo artist?

My friend is an amazing artist and would do tattoos on the side, but he got his tattoo gun stolen, anyways, does anyone have any good suggestions. I'm looking for someone who really wants to sit down and work with you and obviously has natural talent. (no wall tats here, thanks)

I love Dan Marshall at Tribulation- super super nice guy. Tim Kern is also amazing but less my style.

Andrea Elston is my fave! But she moved to Texas, so unless you want to trek there.

A few nyc artists that do great work in no particular order - Anil Gupta (although he has no tats on his body), Josh Lord, Patrick Conlon and Chris O'Donnell.

It really depends on the style you are looking for.

Denise de la Cerda did my last 2, www.chicksdigtattoos.com. Still haven't decided about having this filled in, her lines are beautiful.

those are great I would just do some nice shadowing and not fill it in too much, yeah those are definitely the type of lines the i'm going for. I like very 'liney' (lack of a better term) tattoos that look more like really detailed pen and ink or pencil drawings. thanks

I found Denise through a friend and went to see her with pictures of what I was looking for (I can't draw to save my life). Turns out she drew a phoenix the week before, just for the hell of it, and it was about 90% what I wanted. She customized it for me and fit it perfectly to my arm. I had always wanted to have a phoenix colored with reds, oranges, and yellows but once it was finished I wasn't sure anymore. Her lines look like brush strokes, I had people asking me if it was real or painted on. It's been 3 1/2 years and I still can't make up my mind for more than a day or 2.

I've recommended Denise to a bunch of people who have since gotten work done by her. They've all been very pleased with her work. I don't feel I can take any credit for this tattoo other than having the good taste to choose her!

If you're looking for something more local, Robert over at Brooklyn Tattoo is pretty amazing. People like Kern and O'Donnel are booked like a year in advance and tend to be pricey, the curse of being good and famous..Denise is really good too

Nothing wrong with paying good money for good art! You get what you pay for in the end.

I'm going to see Patrick Conlon in a few weeks for a consult and hopefully I can get my tat before spring kicks in gear.

Just my 2 cents, I like the sharp contrast without color. It looks great and since you love it so much, don't chance changing it.

Colors would look great on you because your skin is light and will pick up vibrant hues. I say get another design in color.

If Patrick Conlon doesn't work out for me, I will give Denise a call.

my bad, i heard a few days ago that Chris was booked a year in advance, didnt mean to lump Tim in to that. I just saw a piece Patrick Conlon did recently, he's very good too.
