An Italian friend of mine said that her sister's apartment one floor below got broken into this week in Carroll Gardens. She lives on a cross-street near Hicks (President?). She also said that a girl got mugged for her iPod a couple of weeks ago on President between Court and Clinton along with a few other muggings. I've lived in this neighborhood for 11 years. This would never have happened 11 years ago.

People may be trying to rustle up some cash to buy Xmas presents. I know I've become lax about my personal security because this nabe has always been so safe. Be careful out there!!

I noticed the tower a few days ago, but it didn't deter the shooting near the car service place on columbia just north of W.9th last night. I wasn't here, but a neighbor said it was pretty bad...
