What's up on Vanderbilt between St. Marks and Bergen 8:15PM

Subject: What's up on Vanderbilt between St. Marks and Bergen 8:15PM

When I drove by there were cops blocking the SODA side of the street. Anyone know what was up?

    I walked by Bergen after 5pm, and saw at least 4 police cars, the street blocked, maybe a dozen police officer strugling to put a guy in a police car. Pleople looking all over Vanderbilt, more police cars rushing to the site but had no time stop to find out what happened.
    That's all I can tell you about it.

    I took a photo of this from my window around 9:15...they're still here...1 lane is open in each direction...the car that's standing diagonally on the street has a dented side...not sure if it's got to do with this event or not.

    well if you could take a picture ;p. you could go down there and talk to some cops. go yo whats up. whats going on here.

    thanks for that suggestion....we have now surveyed the scene.

    the cops are gone from vanderbilt..so that is still a mystery...however now there is a new separate incident on st. marks & vanderbilt (but its on actual st. marks)...so apparently there is a hazmat crew and several fire trucks and police cars...one of us talked to someone in a neighboring building and there might be some sort of a resin spill...but so far that's all we know...even the cop said he doesnt know...and no one's yet panicking...

    more to come...maybe. : )

    sorry if i am sounding like an idiot, but wtf is a "resin spill?"

    i could see the nypd and fdny on st marks out my back window at about 11:00 last night (i'm on prospect b/t vander and under). they were right in front of the school park where people run their pitbulls and sometimes play basketball. was the hazmat situation in the school or the depot-ish thing next to it?
