anyone know for sure what's going on where the old salvation army used to be? there was rumor last year that it was going to be a gap, but now they are tearing it down and there's no indication of what's going up instead.

just curious - thanks!

  • A stroller store :lol::lol:

    Sorry couldn't pass that up
  • from the building permit applications it looks like they are trying to build a 15 unit residential property - 7 stories/80 ft high - 20,980 sq. ft. First floor will be commercial use.

    The current application was denied but it is common for it to be denied because something needs to be modified and it may not require them to change their plans significantly.
  • Subject: the neighborhoods going to hell

    A friend of my step uncle's is a neighbor of realestate agent's personal trainer who sold the property. He told me the property has been sold to the Church of Park Slope. They have been holding services over at Camp Friendship and have been looking for a permanent space for their rapidly expanding congregation. The Salvation Army cut them a great deal.
  • I heard it was going to be a combination realtor/cell-phone joint.

    Great! That's exactly what we need.

    How do they all stay in business? It seems like there must be at least one real estate office for every house for sale in PS at this point. And the cell phone stores -- why are there so many cell phone stores? Doesn't everyone already have a cell phone? I mean, I was the last person in NYC to get a cell phone, and that was a couple of years ago.

    I miss the Salvation Army. I used to give them all my clutter, and now I don't know what to do with it.
  • I agree about the SA. I have a bunch of stuff that would make someone happy, but right now it's kinda clogged up in logistics...
  • Subject: salvation army

    There's a salvation army not too far away on Flatbush, I think. They have a website, you can look for locations.
