Do you remember Billy Johnson of 12th St.
Hi:
My name s Jim Cantwell(Jimmy to many who might remember me). I grew up on 12th St between 4 & 5 Ave in the 50's & 60's.
I came across this site while searching for info about my friend Billy Johnson who lived next door to me and who I believed was killed in Nam in either 68 or 69. I was checking the Vietnam Wall names recently and didn't find his name there.
I checked with my friend Pete Sacco and he also says Billy was killed in Nam.
If anyone out there has info please let me know. I was in the Army from Feb68-71 and he died while I was either in boot camp or overseas in Korea(yeah I really lucked out-especially since I JOINED).
I came across this site with a post from someone named Freddie Garcia (3 years ago)asking about all the things from Park Slope that I remember.
Then I came across a post by my teen queen Lucia (Giacometti) Pagano and that continued on for 2500 other posts by her and a ton of her friends and now here I am. I hope maybe some of them can help.
I'll post again tomorrow about the people and places I remember but since it's ST PADDY'S DAY I have to go and watch my favorite Irish movie
"Waking Ned Devine"
I hope someone out there reads this and can get back to me with some info.
Thanks
