Where to have a fun rehearsal Dinner?

When is your wedding? We rented out Akwaaba Mansion in Bed-Stuy and did an old fashioned backyard BBQ in September. Although it was a lot of work, it was really cheap (Wester Beef for the basics, BJ's for everything else) and I think we ended up spending something in the area of $20-22 per person.
I'd also look at places like Bubbys in Dumbo which is huge and could probably accomodate you without making a dent in its ability to accomodate other guests. -
For a rehearsal dinner, nothing big, as stated in a different thread, I think Snooky's Pub; on 7th avenue between Carroll St. & Garfield Pl. has an upstairs room they rent.
140 7TH Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11215-2294
(718) 788-3245
worth a shot
And Tutta Pasta (sp?) on 7th avenue between Garfield & 1st street has a back room for parties. Both of these are in Park Slope. In Carroll Gardens, Union & Henry, Nino’s used to have an upstairs room and the food is good.
I remember them all being relatively inexpensive. I don’t know how much “fun†they are; it’s just food and the space. No clowns or anything, I think you’ll have to make your own fun. -
We were in the same situation and ending up having our rehearsal dinner at Palmira's (http://www.restaurant.com/microsite.asp?rid=312457) in Brooklyn Heights. It was convenient for people staying at the Marriot, right next to the Clark St subway stop and there's a parking garage for people driving in. It's a huge restaurant with a back room and bar for parties.

Subject: and on the wedding
Hi,
I just got engaged and we are starting to look for places to have the wedding/reception- help
does any one have any suggestions? event spaces?
thanks, -
My fiance and I are having our Reception at the Brooklyn Marriott. Great space and location, since I have a lot of people coming from out of town.
They also give 250k Marriott points towards your honeymoon. Though keep an eye out, since there are some blackout dates and such for availability.
Other reception sites to choose in Brooklyn:
Picnic House - beware the $4250 site fee!
Brooklyn Botanical Gardens - beware of the $4k site fee!
Prospect Park Boathouse - beware of the $4k site fee!
Grand Prospect Hall - IMO it needed some renovations when I saw it June '05
There are a ton more.....just go on theknot.com. That is your best bet.
Howdy, Stranger!
