UPS Pickup Locations

I preformed a search before posted this new topic, but if I missed a previous thread about this than I do apologize.

Okay, so as usual UPS always delivers packages in the middle of the day when most people arenÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t home. Does anyone know where the Brooklyn headquarters are? I know I can get this from calling, but I was curious if it was reachable by train or busÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â¦

if you have the tracking number call ups and have them delivery it at a time you know you gonna be home. other wise i think not sure if its fed ex or ups place is far and you need a car.

so I called... and they are like you can't schedule a specific time at all. And I googled the place and its all the way over where Brooklyn College is. And of course they are only open from 9-6 when most people are working...

So the customer service represenative claims that I need someone with the same last name to pick it up for me. Umm, I live by myself with no fam close by...

Its kind of annoying UPS... like whats really good? Whats the point of delivering residential packages in the middle of the day...

Okay, sorry for the venting!!

Sometimes you can give them an alternate address to deliver it to so you can have them deliver it to your work. However, I believe they won't do this if it's any sort of electronics or computer related items.

If I'm correct it's at the end of Foster Avenue by E.105 st, the boondocks aka Canarsie. I believe the L train stops by there as well as the A. You might want to leave a note for the UPS guy to deliver your package to a neighbor or even a UPS store (there's one on Flatbush by Park Place).

I've done this. Most UPS dropoff locations have a service called virtual doorman (or something close). You just have them redirect the package to the closest place to you and they call you when it arrives.

also, you CAN call and tell them to deliver on a day that you can be home... which does not help most 9-5ers.. but, this service IS available.

Thanks for all of your wonderful advice...
I changed the address of one of my packages...

But the other one I wasn't able too, and they won't let me do the "virtual doorman" thing. So Friday afternoon, I got to leave work early and trek all the way out to Canarsie. :x

Theres a UPS store on flatbush between park and prospect.

Do you have a neighbor who can sign for it? When they leave the tag on the door I write on it please leave with ..... Also when we lived in Boro Park we had it delivered to our corner store since none of our neighbors were usually home.

I have had this same problem several times. Getting packages at my apt is virtually impossible. Here is what worked for me with UPS: stop by the UPS store on Flatbush, near Prospect Place. Tell them your situation and that you need this package delivered to them. They are very helpful there - i've spoken with the owner and he's great.

Then, call the UPS number and have your package delievered to this place on Flatbush. The Flatbush UPS store charges $5-10 for recieving your package, but it is soooo worth it based on convienence.

My lovely UPS guy usually comes between 5 and 6 and since I Work from home, I'm usually there. On one occasion I had to pick up a package from UPS hq and it was very far and when I got there they had actually lost one of the packages which was very annoying. Far as I know though, they will deliver to your work address instead if you call them up and request that.

Thanks for the great advice. I am going to try the UPS store on Flatbush and see what they say for future packages. I am still going to have to trek all the way out to the UPS headquaters for one of them, but at least for the future I know have several options. Thanks!!

No, you don't have to trek out to the UPS headquarters. Just have them re-route the package. You just call the 800 number and give them the address to the UPS place on flatbush and they'll re-route the package there. Save your time and your money!!!

You can get a PO Box for a reasonable amount, but really it's only useful if you expect packages monthly. But they have a 'mailbox' for just one package (if i remember correctly, it was #9999) and they will hold the package for you.
