PLEASE HELP: sexual predator in Bay Parkway area?

I've lived in Bensonhurst for 8 years and recently I've noticed a very creepy Chinese man and I don't know if he is a sexual predator. I see him around Bay Parkway sometimes, once he was walking with a much older Chinese man who may be his relative.

He followed me once down 2 blocks and waited for me to come up and then started talking to me. The other time I spotted him in a store, and he waited outside a block away for me to leave, and then followed me until he caught up to me. He asked me for my name the first time, and the second time said hello, but as soon as I took out my phone he said "Ok" and ran off.

He's about 6'2", I think about 25 years old, but looks like he could be a little mentally challenged (but I'm not sure). He really scares me and I'm wondering if anyone else in the area has seen this person? I looked up the neighborhood on Neighborhood Watch Dog, and he is not registered. Does anyone know if he is dangerous? Should I just ignore him if I see him again or call the police?

as a chinese man i find this whole thing insulting. how do you know he is a sexual predator? maybe he was just trying to pick you up. other wise just ignore him and tell him you're not interested. instead of fear mongering.

I have dealt with racist in my life time before. few times i try to pickup some white girls. they thought i was some rapist or something, they told their friends i'm some weirdo etc... my white friends just to test out, goes out to the same white girls. they thought he is a gent. anyway point is alot of white people still fear asian males. hell the ex gf of mines. her father thought i was a rapist LOL. this guy is a "liberal" who march in the south for civil rights etc... has a inbreed feel of asian males as here to rape or lord over white women.

statistically speaking asian males are the safest males to be around.

Unfortunately it's not a fake post and I'm not trying to be racist, because I am Chinese as well. I have recognized him around the neighborhood for many years. he has never revealed his name, and the last time he tried to talk to me, I didn't respond, and he ran off as soon as he saw that I took out my cell phone. I feel like that's a sign he knows he may get in trouble?

I'm not saying I'm absolutely sure he's a predator. I wrote the post immediately after it happened because I want to know if anyone else has had this happened to them, and whether or not you would think it's serious enough to alert the police. He's never physically harmed me, he only scares me, and I realize that's not enough to say someone is a predator.

My main concern is the fact that he definitely recognizes me and this is not the first time he has approached me (despite the fact that I don't know anything about him). It doesn't help that he's twice my size...

what is wrong with you? i don't know how many times i see posts on this board of people saying oh i got mugged, just letting everyone know... but they never have called the police!!!! i just don't understand why your first inclination would be to fire up your computer and make a post about it.

I understand the impulse - bringing it to the police seems heavy handed for something you are unsure about. I think it's good that you're doing due diligence before escalating it. That said, this does seem like something you at least want to bring to the attention of a desk sergeant!!

Theres a group home right over there for developmentally disabled adults. I believe it's right off Bay Pkwy and Kings Hwy. The Garden of Eden If I'm correct. Anyway I'm not aware of any reports of Chinese pervs or Rapists in that area.

maybe... but she is describing what the guy looked like.
give it a rest and grow up.. Not everything is racial.. A guy following her could scare her that isn't asian just as much. You don't know what she is thinking. She might have been attacked before or just paranoid. If ANYONE was following me or doing the things she described I would be worried too.You wouldn't have called the racial card had you been black or jewish... You are too sensitive.

i maybe sensitive or not, just from my experience of life here in nyc as a asian male. get the short stick from all groups of people in general.

also in the long long history of posting on the net. alot of white guys pretends to be asian, just for fun and games. seen it done alot of times. just call me a skeptic.

been here since the gopher days(any true old school knows).

Hi. I was googling to find someone to pick up some books we want to donate and came across this site. I saw your post and wanted to respond. We live not too far off Bay Parkway near PS 205. There is a young man who fits the description you gave who in the past hung out in the playground at the school. The playground has been closed for a while now as they are redoing it but he was always there in warm weather.

I asked some of the other folks in the neighborhood and while I can't remember the name one lady mentioned she did seem to at least know a first name. My neighbor told me he is challenged and just hangs out with the kids. He seems from at least what I have been told one of the local characters.

This could be someone different but again he fits the description posted. He may have moved to hang out closer to Bay Parkway or maybe even the park on Bay near Seth Low since the one by 205 is closed.

this post is useless unless you actually tell us some type of location so we know where to look out for.

I mean, the person only gave a description based on the fact that he was Chinese and followed her in a creepy way.

Its not like she said "hey, like all chinese, this guy is looking to sniff my panties" or anything.

Chill dude. I'm not asian, but I love the Japanese culture and my asian friends tease me and call me an asianphiler.

I don't know what to tell you guys, this is an old post and since then we have disallowed "guest" posting. None of the IP's match, not that this means anything, lots of people use multiple IP's.

sorry man. i grew up being harassed in a poor area and first thing always was chink and a beating, wasn't cool. wasn't that many asians around any where in brooklyn i grew up. always the outsider. so i could be a bit sensitive to it. still happens to me.

Where I used to live with my parents, once was all Italian. Nothing but Chinese and Koreans now!

And to be honest, the only thing that bothers me about that, are the UGLY chrome fences they put up lol
