  • Thanks.
    Just proved my point.
It's funny how many people commented on what you said and I'm the only one who srtuck some sort of nerve.
    Sorry if it hit home.
    A worthless ----?
    That's rich man.
  • And for the record, i wasn;t really commenting on your ideas, just the way you started with "stupid" and "retard".
So in an effort to bury the hatch, because I dont need cyberspace drama,
    I applaud your passion.
It was just so agro is all.
Then you lecture me on using capitals!
You even gave me the devil smiley face.
    Harsh.

Guess what? I like it here. It is what the slope used to be before it became the stodgy upper east side. I was more than happy to dump my coop, sell it to one of the four investment bankers fighting over it and run.

Ya, but look. You can't stay away. I hope you don't find these boards too "stodgy" now, in fact maybe I do because you seem to enjoy doing some occasional sh*t disturbing from your Kensington perch.

I moved to Brooklyn for low rise housing, with all the qualities that conveys on a neighborhood.
I agree that the tire shops of 4th Ave aren't much to look at, but it's more an artery than a local street

all that and the sheer volume of people - the R train is such a crazy slow mess as it is . . .
The R may be slow, but not from crowding. I'm much more likely to get a seat on the R than any other train from the Slope.

I agree that the big buildings going up on 4th are monstrosities. But it's a fair tradeoff for downzoning the rest of the neighborhood (even though I'm in sight of them too). I can't blame people for wanting to live in my neighborhood, and as more people realize they want to live there, it's going to change one way or another.

Also, as someone who often walks home from the subway on 4th Avenue, I'd welcome more foot traffic to and from the R stations, which the new buildings should provide.

Yeah Linus thats kinda how I view it - It will also be interesting to see how 4th Ave develops as it shifts to residential -
as for subway crowding, I think it is somewhat overblown; even with all the buildings built the density will be much lower then you have in other parts of the city.

This is exactly my point. I mean walk towards 3rd Avenue off fourth and well...it sort of starts to get sketchy. I also welcome the foot traffic and the additional housing. I’m sure the small business owners feel the same way. So why oh why does south slope Community Board have their panties in such a wad? who knows before long they might even try to get rid of the pink pussy cat..I admit I dont really frequent the pussy Cat but when I needed to buy a gag gift one of our freinds (a same sex malecouple, We bought them Gay beach Blanket bingo) I knew the pussy Cat was the place to go. Not only did we get a bunch of laughs, but they absolutely loved it. Lets keep the government out of our pockets and out of our back yards...thats all Im saying.

So if the government is out of our pockets, who will pay for road repair? Who will pay for the FAA and make sure airplanes are safe to fly and won't be falling out of the sky? Who will pay for the FDA and make sure the drugs we buy are sort of safe? Who will pay for education--or maybe only people who can afford private school should educate their children? Who will pay for medicaid and medicare? Or should we just let old or poor people slip through the cracks because god forbid, the government asks us for some $$ to help support society as a whole.

I don't think you are very magnanimous--sounds like the opposite.
  • wow, it sure makes me feel great to know that a part of my (and not your, i'm assuming) body is so horrible that you'd use it as an insult.

kind of like how good it makes me feel when you heap scorn on people like my uncle, who has been retarded since birth. (what? that's not what you meant? because it is what you said.)

really makes me want to be on your side on any issue.

Ok I know this is a non sequitur
First and foremost my older brother is developmentally handicapped.
The most insulting gesture towards someone is pity. I don’t pity retarded people. We grew up and treated my brother just like anyone of us, retard jokes and all and when we played football and he dropped the perfect pass we called him a fucking retard, He couldn’t catch for shit but he'd tackle the hell out of you when he had to. My brother has a heart of gold and he grew up happy because we never treated him any different.
I don’t need to be politically corrected, You knew what I meant when I said that, you fucking retard.

  • charming.
  • That's one word for it Sweet Tea.
