Animal crates needed — Brooklynian

Animal crates needed

edited November -1 in Brooklyn Pets
Hey guys! Some of you may know that the owner of Tailored Pet in Brooklyn Heights passed away last December. My mom and I knew Serena since we moved to BH in 1983 and my mom worked for her for about 5 years. My parents want to reopen the store, partly to carry on Serena's legacy and partly because they're huge animal lovers. Unfortunately, all of the animal crates, shelves, and other store stuff was removed. So I'm here to ask if anyone has any crates they don't need anymore. Small, medium, large, we can use them all! Also, if anyone has any leads on grooming equipment or kennel cages or other related stuff, please let me know. We would appreciate it immensely, thanks so much!

  • Whatever you do, please don't sell "Easter bunnies." Many bunnies get unintentionally tortured or murdered by 5-year-olds every spring.
  • Oh no. never! It's going to be pet grooming, boarding, food, toys, and accessories. No selling of animals ever! My mom is as much of an animal lover as I am and has already thought of having rescue groups come to have adoptathons. And I just realized that I didn't explain why we needed the crates in the 1st place! Just for boarding, no animal sales. Mom and I are thinking of different ways to set up the kennel cages to make them really comfy but easy to clean as well. If anyone has any ideas or anything, let us know!
  • All I have is the fancy one I was trying to foist on longtimesloper (it was too big for her). But its yours if you want it!!!
  • What's left in the store? In terms of plumbing, grooming stations etc. I might be able to lay my hands on some stainless steel sinks. Probably nothing big enough to wash a dog in. I'll take some pictures. some shelves too.
  • We'll take it, thanks Beave! modsquad, I'll find out from my mom exactly what's left. Thank you!
  • Hi from caseopele's mom. There is nothing left in the store other than two bathtubs, some shelving, a counter and a large bookcase. We would never sell any animals - maybe humans though (hehehe).
  • This is the one I still have. Not sure if you can use it, but I want to get it out of here!!

Yes, that's a demon inside it.
  • We sure will use it!! It can be used upstairs in the grooming area - would be perfect - now you have to let us know when we can pick it up. My husband is taking the car tomorrow, Saturday, does it collapse?
  • it's actually disassembled, and I have all the parts!

See all that paint in the corner? I just opened the first can. I'll be home ALLLLLLL weekend....
  • Just don't let them take Oskie.
  • I'm busy having a stroke at how dirty and unorganized my apartment is. I don't think I'd notice if they took the dog. Well, I might since I wouldn't have to wash all the paint he's gotten all over himself off him.
  • why am i not surprised to see you have a Dyson vac in your house? :-)

back on topic - caseo's mom is just as cool as she is, so it's great if you can help her out!
  • Ms. Flexichick - thanks for the kind words but I know at times Caseo would love to put a plug in my mouth - but hey I'm just being a mom.

Ms. S - great talking to you tonight - you called Caseo while I was walking the dogs and listening to her complain!!!! Thanks for letting us rid your house of unwanted large and in the way objects!! But just wait you won't have to see all those wonderful colors (that you didn't paint) you were telling me about.

Will have to get you all to come to the grand opening!!
  • Ma, ixnay on the illaryhay! You're ruining my secret identity! #-o

They LIE! They DO lose suction after a while.

Caseo's mom is very cool! I could tell by just chatting with her. I hope her husband isn't scared of smurfs. That's what I look like right now (painting the apt. blue)!!

PS - still not on topic - the Point-n-paint SUCKS ASS!
  • For reals, mom. Nobody here knows who I really am, they've never seen me without my glasses!

I'm laughing because a) my mom would never be able to find this site or understand it and b) god help me if she does and ever starts typing.

As long your mom doesn't give away MY secret identity......:lol::lol::lol:

    Drat, foiled again!

Hahaha, my mom and I are even friends on Facebook! I lurves my mama.
  • Subject: crates

Hey, I have a crate that was an airline crate used for a dog that I'd be happy to give you. It's about 2' X 2'6 or so and in good shape.

    Will this help?

I will probably be heading into Brooklyn in the next few weeks because my daughter is moving, and I can drop it off to you then.

How nice Caseo loves her Mom!! Yea for the Mom's out there!
  • Wait a second! Would we finally get to meet? You better say yes! *shakes fist*
  • Oh, and yes we can totally use the crate, thank you! :D
  • Subject: crates

Yes. We will finally get to meet!!
Do you think they'll allow a Jerseyian in Brooklyn without a mob scene??

I think we're coming in Saturday early evening. My daughter has to work all day so we'll be coming in to help her move some stuff when she's done. We have things to do on Sunday, which would have been easier.

Are you working, and where do you work?? Maybe we can drop it off beforehand, if it's on the way.

I also have an older have a heart trap if you need an extra.

I look forward to finally getting to meet my friend, Ms. Caseopele
  • Sweet! I'll call you!
  • Dear Anastasia Beaverhausen!!!!! The crate is beautiful, absolutely perfect, can't thank you enough, seems like Oscar made a good impression on the Mr. He said Oscar was beautiful. You'll have to join us on opening day. Everybody is helping us and I want to cry - well actually not ---only joking. Again, thank you thank you.
  • You're very welcome! Oscar jumped all over your hubby and tried to make out with him. My dog is a whore.
  • It was so great to meet you the other day, caseo. I love your hair color!! Did your feral cats move into the cat house I gave you? I figured it gives them somewhere warm and dry to do their cat things in. And it was special to use my Mom's bedspread in it. She would have loved it. She was a HUGE cat lover (as well as all animals, of course.)

Best of wishes for your parents in their new business.

You know, if I lived in Brooklyn, I promise I would be out there helping you to feed and love the feral population. Like I told you, my husband made me promise I won't turn into a cat lady if he dies first, but since he wouldn't be around, he'd never know! Ha!

Anyhow, it's really great that you care for the animals the way you do.

    Be well. Kim
  • Hey Kim! Thanks for all the great kitty stuff! I haven't put out the cat house yet, I want to make the holes a little larger. My strays are a bit bigger and probably wouldn't fit! It's in my kitchen and a few of my kitties have taken to hiding in it.

You are awesome and it was great meeting you and Bill, thanks again!
