Good morning, helicopter! — Brooklynian

Good morning, helicopter!

Anyone know why the good, decent, law-abiding citizens of Windsor Terrace were treated to a long visit from a low, loud, hovering helicopter at 5 a.m.?

  • OMG, that Police helicopter was LOUD and shiny like a Christmas tree. It was so surreal, I even took a picture!

It was hovering over PPW and I think 16th street for at least 15 minutes. Nothing on the news so far.
  • Yuh, right over our building. It would be nice to know why.
  • Two houses on Windsor Place were broken into. Computers and credit cards were taken from what I heard. Two elderly gents were talking about it outside of the bagel shop this afternoon.
  • Goodness! Sorry to hear that.

I wonder if that's what the fuss was about. The helicopter was north of Windsor Place and the searchlights were pointed toward PPW.
  • i think if someone tries hiding in prospect park while its dark out, the police take a helicopter low above the park and see if they can spot him with a super flashlight
  • It woke me out of a sound sleep and freaked out the dogs.
  • I'm fine with them going low over the Park with their super flashlight, but the damn thing could have come down a few feet and landed on our roof.
  • That woke me up too. Makes me feel like I was in Vietnam or something. Damn!
  • wow, apparently i am a very sound sleeper
  • There were several break-ins....they came into the house while people were sleeping and stole a bunch of stuff. A little scary.
  • that sucks. so does being woken up by helicopters.

i hope they catch them. and i hope they let me get some damn sleep
  • Horrible!

Was this Windsor between PPW and 8th?
  • maybe they thought the crook was hiding in a backyard and wanted to check each one with the super light? if their really doing it for our safety then i got no problem with being woken up by a helicopter
