Blackberry Repair? — Brooklynian

Blackberry Repair?

Does anyone know someone who does Blackberry repair? It's a BB Curve and Cingular says they can't fix it. My company refuses to buy me a new one as we have several old models hanging around (the old models are ginormous and I love my little, chic Curve).

I know there must be tinkerers out there. I'd appreciate any suggestions so that I don't have to carry an embarrasingly huge PDA with me around town.

Thanks!

  • Whats wrong with it ?
  • It's started to reboot itself randomly, like when I click on the "back" button or rollerball. We did a hard reset yesterday and I haven't seen it reboot itself since (but it may have done so). Before it started rebooting itself for no reason, the rollerball was getting stuck and not scrolling (the ball would move but the cursor wouldn't). I was in Maui about 4 weeks ago and may have gotten a grain of sand in it or something (just a guess).

Do you work with BBs or know anyone who does?
  • ok here's a video of how to fix the trackball ..its very easy this video is showing a perl but its the same for a curve

  • ok he's changing the trackball in the video ,,, after u remove your track ball move the black rollers around and get canned air and blow it clean
  • ok here's the right video on how to clean the track ball

  • Hey, thanks! I just cleaned my trackball. Unfortunately, I spoke too soon about my BB rebooting itself. It is in the rebooting process right now. Any suggestion, 'o king sir, about why it keeps rebooting?
  • pull the battery out , wait 3 minutes and put it back in
  • Will do. But I've done that about 6 times in the last 24 hours. It doesn't seem to work.
  • have u installed any new programs ?
