Father/son bodega owners killed last night — Brooklynian

Father/son bodega owners killed last night

Very sad...

A father and son were shot and killed in a Crown Heights bodega last night during an apparent robbery attempt, police sources said.

The violence erupted about 9:30 p.m. inside the Utica Deli at 309 Utica Ave. It wasn't clear if any money was taken during the robbery attempt. The gunman fled.

One of the victims died at the scene; the other shortly after at Kings County hospital. Sources said the father and son operated the bodega.

  • Can you imagine being in a store around 9:30PM, picking up some food, when a couple of thugs run in and shoot the store's owner in front of you?

Maybe all store owners in that area can team up, put money together, to create a community security system.
  • It's so scary. I recently was forced by my FH son to watch Four Brothers. Movie was not so good- but the beginning scene is of a bodega hold-up. It's scary and very very sad.
  • last year i went there every day in the morning to get a soda on my way to work. this is really sad..
  • NY Daily News wrote: They may have died for nothing.

The bandits who dragged a Brooklyn deli owner and his 18-year-old son into a basement and executed them fled the store without taking a cent, heartbroken relatives said Thursday.

"They killed a good man for nothing," Ahmad Ali, 35, a nephew of the slain shopkeeper told the Daily News, outside the family home in Crown Heights.
That is so awful. Condolences to that poor family, and every immigrant family just trying to make a go of it . . .
    ugh.
  • Sad. How horrible.
  • Sad. :(

    May they rest in peace.
  • The pig that pulled the trigger and anyone who was with him for the pyurpose of robbing that store should be executed.
