  • Okay, you asked for it. I am a cellist, composer, West-African-one-string-fiddler, and partner in a world music arts management company.

I live on Prospect between Flatbush & Carlton. I am playing tonight (Friday April 7) at Zebulon with my group Kakande. Tomorrow night my Hungarian folk group is leading a participatory dance event- we specialize in the village folk culture from the ethnic Hungarian regions of Hungary, Transyvlania, Slovakia and Louisiana.

Our biggest event of the year is coming up. My label, Jumbie Records, organzes the only festival of xylophone music from around Africa. We are teaming up with Columbia and the 92nd Street Y to present a three day event on May 5, 6 & 7.

Please email me if you'd like more information or to get on our mailing list. You can also find out more or sign on to our mailing list at www.JumbieRecords.com.

    Best,
    Raul
  • My Brother is a musician, I bet I could drag him out. He plays Keyboards in a band. I just play records.... :)
  • My Okinawan pop band, Happy Fun Smile, is playing in Princeton, NJ tomorrow night at 8.
