Also great, in Williamsburg: Fette Sau.

It's true we are not known for our BBQ historically, but these two establishments are working very hard to change that.
The Smoke Joint blows Fette Sau away.

**Not a Bed-Stuy related comment, just had to join in.

Wow. I could not disagree more. Only been to each place twice, but on every count, Fette Sau crushes Smoke Joint, imho. Might need to do back-to-back comparisons on this one, but I love everything about Fette Sau, from how you order to how you sit to how your beer comes to how insanely good their pork belly is.

Personal preference I guess, I'll just try Smoke Joint again. Soon!

Each time I have had Fette Sau it has been dry, dry, dry. I love the place, though, and I love their bourbon choices. Smoke Joint does it for me as far as the food goes, though. To each their own!

I'll just have to go back to Smoke Joint! I live 4 blocks away, so I'm happy to patronize the place more often.

I have to agree with the bbc on this -- Fette Sau does the pork right. I bet it depends (as does all BBQ) on what you like.

At Fette Sau we got takeout for across the street, Spuyten Duyvil: pork belly and some sausages and it was fantastic. Juicy fantastic, pig candy fantastic.

My friend who likes beef dinosaur ribs drags me to Smoke Joint; everything I've tried (like pulled pork sandwich) is just . . . okay. I'm happy they're around, but it's not spectacular if you're a Carolina pork lover looking for something special.
