Beeping car on St Marks bt Classon and shuttle tracks

If anyone else is fed up with the beeping car's alarm warning or whatever, please make some calls. This thing beeps all day and night, sometimes 10 times per minute, and it's LOUD. It's a dark blue Mazda 929 with darkly tinted windows, probably late 90's, NY plate DNU8329. It's always parked just on the Classon side of the shuttle tracks by the playground. I've called 311 and the 77 precinct a few times, but nothing has ever been done. I ran into the owner once and asked very nicely if he would do something about it, to which he said he would take care of it right away. His grin made me believe he was proud of the noise and that someone noticed him. If enough people call, hopefully the cops will do something to this selfish asshole's car.

    People and these friggin car alarms drive me nuts. All night long with the beeping and sirens. The worst is when they live so close they can reset it with their remote from their home. Yes, thats the situation on our block.

    Something that worked briefly, was a neighbor left a note on the car detailing how if within a weeks time, the alarm didnt stop going off all night the cars curbside window would be broken, so the hood could be popped open and the battery disconnected. That car no longer parks on our block. Of course I wouldn't recommend this as a problem solver, but ...

    I have heard that with a plate # 311 should send someone out to deal with it. But of course 311 is always YMMV.

    the funny thing is that I called 311 to follow up on the complaint and they told me that DEP found no noise code violation---but the report didn't say whether the car was actually there when DEP came by! Then they didn't want to re-enter the complaint since DEP had supposedly already checked it out, likely when the car was gone.

    Call 911, not 311 for noise complaints. You want them to get there right away, not 2 hours from now.
