Does anyone have a USB to USB cable?

Hello. I'm trying to transfer files between 2 computers (both PCs) but I need the USB to USB linking cable. I called radioshack and they are out, and I don't feel like venturing any further out in the rain. I can't network the computers together so this is my only hope. Would anyone out there be willing to let me borrow theirs or buy it?

ThankS!

Brad

  • What about a "flash drive" (4G or 8G etc) from Radio Shack? Load the data into the flash drive (goes into USB port) and then simply transfer the data into the other computer. They are also "erasable" and reusable.
  • ^^
and getting pretty cheap, plus doesn't it seem like everyone has one lying around?
  • possibly, but I have a lot of stuff I need to transfer.
  • What ran through my mind when I saw this topic:

YO DAWG WE HERD U LIEK USB, SO WE PUT A USB CABLE INSIDE YO USB CABLE SO YOU CAN CONNECT WHILE YOU CONNECT

Heh, sorry. I am an idiot. Carry on...
  • there are 2 radio shacks you can try - one on 5th and one on 7th ave.
  • I have a PC transfer cable you can borrow, PM me for pickup today
  • Subject: Create a local network

You can do this by connecting your pcs with a standard network cable and manually setting each computers IP address to the same string i.e. 192.167.44.101 and 192.167.44.102. This will create a local network and you will be able to access either computer as you would any other computer on your network using the new ip address.
  • I tried that and it didn't work, but BrooklynGigCenter was nice enough to let me borrow his and it worked.
  • That's great! Nice of them to do that. However, don't forget the AMAZING Brooklyn Freecycle. You can put a "Wanted" ad or an "Offer" ad for anything. And it's "sustainable."
  • Lies... those sorts of cables don't exist.

The peeps at Radio Shack definitely had a good laugh at your expense.

USB to USB cable - what a hoot. Oh wait, I got one of those... If you believe that I also, a little something called the brooklyn bridge that you can borrow whenever you want.

    PM me.
