I am definitely curious at just what kind of crowd we will get - especially since we're sharing the same address!

Do you have XRay vision? I went to see, but the windows were covered with paper!

You just have to catch it on a beautiful day when a few windows are open to enjoy the weather

  • i think katbka meant fluorescent lighting, not neon? actually, doesn't matter as we probably won't have either.

sports versus no sports, yes sometimes. bigger games yes, never college anything, leaning towards soccer. i love soccer.

and someone mentioned cider? definitely having cider. love me some cider too.

btw, if any of you guys are on facebook you can join the group for this new place (and find out the name of it in the process). search me: [email protected] and then check out my groups... of which there are many, but one of them will stand out from the rest as the most likely name. haha!

  • greg, it only gives the option to add you as a friend, not view your friends or groups.

I actually did mean fluorescent, so much for my knowledge of lights! Thanks CurleyGreg
My apologies to neon lights' fans

  • I can't wait to get a double shot of bourbon at the Double Windsor!
  • is that the name? Double Windsor? i like :)
  • 1.) For those few of us vehemently refusing to join Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin, and whatever the #$% people are doing these days, would anyone mind letting us know the name?

2.) Do I get a prize or something for starting a 10,000 plus thread?
  • Cider? Thats definitely a plus!

It's called the Double Windsor (even though it's in park slope!!111 Zomg!)

    Ties are strictly forbidden.
  • love the name!! didn't know that was a type of tie knot though until i looked it up.
  • feel free to "tie one on" though. ;)
  • Yay! Double Windsor :)

And soccer is good...college basketball = not good.
  • i agree , yes to soccer
    no to college sports

i would also say no to mlb, nba, nfl, nhl - even the big games, but your call obviously

    can't wait!

if i lived in a world where everyone was exactly like me (boring!), we would only have soccer on (and everyone would be huge LIVERPOOL F.C. fans).

it's something we'll have to see how it goes... i know we won't be a sports bar per se, but having the superbowl/stanley cup/world series/world cup/tour de france on, would be fine by me... no nascar! :)

world cup games with beer specials from the countries playing in the game. Great idea.

As much as I want to see Italy win a 5th cup, I don't want to drink Italian beer!

My non-important vote is for no sports at all at night. Weekend daytime games are good.
  • double windsor. i like it. i'm glad it has the name windsor in it because i don't like the real estate people always trying to stretch the borders of park slope
  • I like it as well. I'm already thinking of ways to shorten it.

    Like the dw or windsor^2

I am sure I can think of more when I'm sitting at the double windsor having a few pints watching west ham beat liverpool...

    I can dream, right?
  • YankeeFan,
Just curious. What is behind your obsession with the PS/WT borders? I just looked at many of your posts and they are riddled with this theme. No, as I've told you before, I am not a R/E agent. I am a property owner in the area though. It's no big deal anyway. Just trying to figure out your preoccupation with this issue. I predict that you will be moaning about the "element" in the new place in very short order. Get ready! They will be the antithesis of what you stereotype the WT crowd as and will very closely resemble the Park Slope "type". Get over it!!!

    peroni is pretty decent
  • Double Windsor sound cool. Why double though, for the two-for-one drink specials?

Peroni? Birra Moretti? What next? Are you going to say Stella is a good beer? (yes, I know it is Belgian)

AH! Thanks :) . Pretty cool name then, but I am still wondering about double-drink specials :)))
  • i'm thinking it could have been called Windsor (K)not :)

But I'll still go to Double Windsor....when they open....cough cough....

    g2bdon,
you make up ideas in your head and then go crazy about them. yes i’m petty about windsor terrace and park slope borders. thats just because as new people come to this area a lot of them call it park slope and i don’t want to see the name of the area i grew up in become completly forgotten. but you keep saying its my way of denying gentrification has hit windsor. its not! of course genrification has hit windsor. you think i just don’t notice half the people i grew up with are no longer here? half my current neighbors i don’t even know? how many restaurants are opening? sure i preferred this area when it use to be more of community. but i accept its changed. i wouldn’t say i hate all the new people. i know the double windsor will be supported by new people. good. i hope they like it. as i’ve said before i’ll have nothing against the place just as long as the live music does not draw large crowds from all over brooklyn and beyond to make 9th ave their friday and saturday night hang out spot
