new hair stylist business card — Brooklynian

new hair stylist business card

i tried oak café on ft hamilton for the first time a few days ago and didn’t care for it. but inside i noticed they had business cards for some hair stylist who lives in the area and her cards tagline was “bringing manhattan hair to brooklyn” maybe i’m misunderstanding something, but isn’t that like saying “proud to be gentrification" or "manhattan is better than brooklyn and i’m proud to be a part of the taking over” it doesn’t sound like much of a friendly tagline to me. or is there something i’m just not getting?

  • May be she cuts hair in Manhattan, and, not able to shake it all off, brings some of it to Brooklyn? :D
  • Do you have her info? I'd love to have a stylist come to me rather than have to traipse to them.

Are you on KWT? People were mentioning someone named Julean who has a big following in the slope, lives in kensington, and comes to your house to do cuts (adults and kids). You can search the archives.
  • nobody seems to get my point

but if you want her number just go to oak cafe and get her card. they probably still have more there
  • i think the tagline is pretty lame, especially considering that Brooklyn is considered "hipper" than Manhattan
  • Well - some people want stiffer more square UES hair.
  • what is UES hair?
  • UES= Upper East Side...

  • Sigh. Just when I thought Staten Island hair was going to be all the rage. Should I got with the Billy Idol spike 'do or the Peg Bundy BOUF?

I have the card, too, right in front of me, picked up at Hamilton Dog House. I haven't tried them yet. I agree it sounds a little wistful, but maybe they're good. The name on the card is Jennifer Gugliucci, and the phn is 718-437-4270 (also 347-415-4862).

And people saying that "Brooklyn is hipper than Manhattan" sounds like someone desperately wants to be hipper than Manhattan. Pompous. Who cares? She just wants a hair cut.
