  • Update:

Can't bring home two as the other one we bonded with was claimed (reserved, more like) shortly after we left on Sunday.

Also, check out the pic of our new pup-to-be sent to us today:

    Coming home this Saturday!
  • I WANT TO KEEEEEEEEEEEES HIM!!!!!!!
  • What a fantastic shot. So cute! Maybe you need to have a puppy-warming party and brooklynians will come over and "socialize" your pup :)
  • so so so so cute!
and seriously good puppy photographer keeping the mama . . . I LOVE this story!
  • Subject: The mother dog...

Yes, the mother dog does look like a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. Is the all black puppy spoken for in terms of adoption. Have been researching adopting a puppy/young dog.

    [email protected]
  • I think the pups are listed on Fido's lost/adoption page:

    Adopt Puppies...

    image

They are 8 weeks old, pit/boxer/heinz 57 mixes and are ready for immediate adoption. Others are black & white.

They have been home fostered with their mother, all the puppies are in excellent health, already spayed and neutered and have their first puppy vaccinations. There are two females and two males. Their adult size is likely to range from 45 to 65 lbs. depending on the puppy.

They have receive excellent socialization, are paper trained and know to sit to say please. Contact Sean Casey Animal Rescue at: [email protected] for an adoption application. For more information about the puppies and to meet them contact: Viviane Arzoumanian: [email protected] or 917-476-8315.
  • OQ, that sounds like this bunch o' pups!

I would definitely recommend anyone that's interested to contact them.

Good luck to anyone else interested...

  • Such a cute muzzle-powche and puppy belly! Congratulations!

UrbanCowgirl, I was really happy to hear that the foster family was keeping the mama too. She deserves a wonderful home after all she's been through!
  • Jeffrey - tell us more! What did you do with your little puppeh? do you have a name yet? what's puppeh like?
  • So freakin' CUTE! The last pic almost looks a little bloodhound to me. I think he wants to snuggle with me!
  • This just in...

He now has a name, and it is:

    Cyrano.

(A distinctive name for a distinctive nose)
  • Awwww....Cyrano!

Did he sleep through the night?
  • The foster family got him a leg up on schedule and training.

We discovered over the course of yesterday the following:

    1) He's on totally regular, predictable cycles: play...eat...bathroom...sleep.

    2) He lets us know when he needs to go, so we just take him out then.

So the wife and I just split up cycles...me doing two, her doing two etc. Made for both of us being able to sleep for good blocks of the night, no prob.

He whimpered a bit each time he came back and went back into his crate int the dark but we moved the crate next to our bed early on and all it took was me leaning over putting my hand on his shoulder and speaking gently to him to get him to feel comfortable.

    He's a softy.

    sounds like you're a softy, too :)

he sounds like such a good dog! I'll be looking out for him (and Bruno) while I take my walks
  • Btw, after spending the morning playing and rolling around in our yard and listening to the birds, pup has now been bathed and shampooed and now smells delightfully of Orange Mango Smoothee (shampoo).

Heading out and about on the town with him now.

See ya on the flip side!
  • Update:

    1) Puppeh has mastered going UP the stairs.

    2) As of last night, I was able to get him to try going DOWN 2 stairs.
***Update:*** He just came downstairs by himself to find me! Woohoo!
    (and uh.. whew! )

    3) Lots of tail wagging and the cutest cooing and gentle grunting when he wants to communicate how much he loves us.

    4) He finds it entirely amusing when people say "woof."

    5) I find running with him entirely amusing (just down the length of the block), paws bounding and ears a-floppin'. His ears, I mean. Only tricky part is when he slams on the brakes and veer into any and all passers-by for the requisite hellos.

    6) I believe this pic sez it all:

  • awwweeee. Jeffrey and his buddy!
  • whynot - on another matter, just realized...all that searching for the right bowling ball and the right technique to little avail when I had all I needed right there on my shoulders.

    imageimage

Meh. Hindsight may be 20/20, but usually leaves you feeling like a 7/10 split.
  • I've gotta tell Jeffrey that Em has figured out how to post as him.

All the smileys and animation, it could be no one else.
  • I been haxored~!

Okay, just to keep it on topic, here's another obligatory pup pic:

Alright. I've posted enough today. Forgive me for getting carried away.

I'm laid up on crutches and i need amusement and cuteness.
