Was in PH, now in CH...looking for guidance

I've been a PH resident and active poster to that board for a number of years.

I just inked a lease on an apartment on Union between Franklin and Bedford. I know the other side of Eastern Parkway pretty well (Franklin Park, Chavellas, etc.), but I'm trying to get some guidance of what there is on this side of E. Parkway.

Comments

  • The associated on Franklin, and Sal's for egg sandwiches.
  • You'll notice that 90% of the info on this board is regarding the other side of Eastern Parkway. You'll also find some info on Lefferts Garden boards/groups on Yahoo.

    Some notes:

The Associate is the best supermarket around Crown Heights (that I know of). It's got a lot of the things people complain about not having in the area (e.g. fancy cheeses, organic produce and general cleanliness).

Sal's does have good sandwiches, and they are cheep!

Billy's Pizza on Bedford is good, they have heros and pasta too.

Sunshine reastaurant on Nostrand is awesome, but tiny.

Tavern on Nostrand is ok, as is the brick oven pizza place.

Western Beef is awesome if you've got a grill, cheap beef.

Get a membership to the Botanical Garden so you can go in the back entrance (Washington btw Crown and Montgomery).
  • i like franklin pizza on franklin
