New cafe opening on 6th ave and 7th st

Where the Bodhi Tree used to be... I finally managed to run into an owner person who confirmed that it will be a cafe serving Mediterranean style food (he said kabobs and hummus with pitas, etc) and will have wifi and generally just be a little place to hang out and get quick foods.

Here's to praying it's better than Fatoosh. He said they're looking to open in 3-4 months because they're ripping the inside completely apart.

Hilarious, I just bumped the other thread about this (remembered after reading about the sandwich place next to Bar Reis). Another (closer) Mediterranean place is cool, although I happen to like Fatoosh and live just about in the middle from there and the old Bodhi Tree location.

Any ideas on when it would be open?

(Never mind, great reading comp on my part.)

Maybe it will be like Mediterra (in what used to be the Curry Shop and is now that awful burger place). Mediterra used to have the most delicious grilled chicken kebab sandwiches.

They were working like mad for the first couple of weeks then it got quiet for a while. I'm glad they're back to work and hope they finish it quickly. I'm excited to see what they've got. Maybe I should send them a request for that garlic bread app Zaytoons has--I think it's as much pita as it is garlic and delicious!

Maybe we need a thread to discuss all such store front changes. There's also some sort of business going in on 6th Ave somewhere between 12 and 16th St (I can't remember where exactly). Can't tell what yet, but I've been hearing lots work sounds when I walk past during the day.

Wait...did they really say 3 to 4 MONTHS? That's a lot of money going out and none coming in for a long time. They'll be starting way in the hole.
