coffee shop on fulton — Brooklynian

coffee shop on fulton

Hiya everyone-
does anyone know the name of the little restaurant/coffeshop on Fulton near Gates (i think)? It's named county something and has anyone eaten there? I'm thinking of meeting my daughter there, but I don't want to give her food poisoning. Thanks

  • Country House. The food is good, a little greasy but very good. I eat there all the time.
  • Subject: Well, we tried it...

Thanks for the recommendation. It was OK and prices were good but they got something wrong on each of our orders and they surprised me by putting mayonaise on the grilled swiss cheese sandwich (presumably in lieu of the tomato I asked for). Never would have occurred to me to ask them not to do that. All in all it was too greasy, but the bread was good. I could go back for the 50-cent coffee, although they serve it in a paper cup even when you're sitting at a table, which I don't prefer if I'm in a coffee shop. It should be in those thick, white mugs or something similar.
  • it's extremely cheap - very greasy diner food. I love diners, but must say that this place is disgusting. It is on Fulton and Vanderbilt I think. The food comes out of a hole (literally) in the wall that leads to the kitchen.
  • I agree that place is borderline disgusting. And coffee in a paper cup at the table? What the hell is that all about? And its not a diner, its got like 6 things on its menu.
  • I, too was disappointed. I wanted there to be something to go to that was not on Dekalb.

The french toast tasted like it was from frozen, and the staff was kind of distant.........not welcoming at all.

When I jog by there @ 5:30 or so, there seem to be about 6 or so people there, so I assume the food has gotten better, or that our experience was just a coincidence. Of course, I don't think anything else is open at that hour.
