Prime Meats - anyone been?

Has anyone been to Prime Meats for drinks? Are they serving an bar food yet?

Subject: Prime Meats

I went to Prime Meats last week and had a great meal. They're serving different cuts of meats, in various combinations, in addition to spaetzle, salads, cheeses and pretzels with mustard. The menu listed online is not entirely correct - the drinks have increased in price (between $9 - 13) and there's more food available. It's a really nice space, the servers were attentive and the food was delicious. I'll definitely go back. There will be a post with photos on my blog tomorrow (4/20/09).

I went today (in the am, so no drinks) and couldn't believe how useless the service was. Unfriendly and unattentive - until they brought the check I hadn't asked for (when I actually wanted another cup of the expensive but delicious coffee), although they weren't at all busy.

Plus, I was surrounded by a bunch of people with laptops who were yapping on their phones.

So as not to sound entirely cranky, the frittata and cabbage salad was good.

I almost went yesterday. Took a look at the menu outside and decided to go to Frankies 457 instead.

Frankies serves the same coffee (stumptown), with friendly service and good food. I don't think I'll even bother trying Prime Meats

I've never had a bad meal at Frankie's. I even brought Manhattan friends there (during their annual trip to Xmas shop in Brooklyn) and they kept bitching and moaning about the wait. They stopped complaining once they tasted the food. It's just too bad it's a walk in the "wrong direction".
