almost got ran over by a crazy mofo driver today
on st john around 7 ave.
I was moving something on the dolly and some f-er was high beaming me half a block away. i didn't have time to push the dolly to the side of the street yet.
they kept going really fast, didn't bother to slow down. almost clip me within a few inches. i thought about throwing the boxes at that crazy f-er, but realize the items are not mine.
crazy people and their stupid cars.

I recently had a guy nearly bean me making a left across my toes while I was in the crosswalk, then stop, put his window down and threaten my very existence with fisticuffs if I touched his truck. So I put my manly two bags of groceries down right there in the street, and said, 'Let's go.' To which he drove off.
If you're reading this, gap-toothed old guy, you're a punk. You don't threaten to fight someone and not follow through with it. Die remembering that.
(edit - ok, I know he won't read this, but I had to get this story out somewhere. Seemed as good a place as any.) -
People speeding around in public spaces are selfish and dangerous.
I saw a guy on a bike get hit by a cab that ran a red light on Atlantic Avenue near Court Street this week.
At Grand Army Plaza, I saw a woman flying down stairs to catch a subway that she had no chance of catching slam into an elderly woman. -
I got so close to being crushed by a car crossing atlantic near the subway the other day that the water bottled dangling from my HAND cracked and broke. The lady proceeded to yell at me (even though I has the walk signal and was in the crosswalk) and i ended up yelling back and banging my broken water bottle on her hood...probably not smart, nice, or dignified, but I was in a horrible mood already. Gotta learn to control the temper, but my heart was pumping and I felt like I was about to throw up.

I was standing on my corner (alright I admit I was in the street, not on the sidewalk, but I was fully visible and was within a FOOT of the sidewalk) and some old (read- had a korean war vet plate) guy was turning onto my corner and LAID on the horn while flipping me off for, I assume, standing in the street.
Little did he know...he's my neighbor and now I get to watch him try to shittily double-park every thurs for streetcleaning (no lie the man is like 6 feet from the car next to him) and he actually almost ran me over while walking my dog ON THE SIDEWALK the other day while backing into a parking spot (read- he was a good 4-5 FEET onto the sidewalk with the back of his car.)
This is why people get their cars keyed... -
Anyone want to go in on some caltrops with me?
-
I am so ready to walk around with a bag of rotten tomatoes and toss them at the gratuitous honkers.
-
I think we may need some pedestrian calming...

But i use treadmills most of the time. I used to run 3 miles in 17 minutes for 5 years straight, i was pretty skinny and could not build muscle mass no matter how much food i consumed, lol
