electronics on an airplane
Does anybody know the rules for carrying electronics on an airplane? (a dvd player, not portable)(it's a gift)

Are you just asking about taking one on in your carryons?
If that's the question, you can take DVD players on and use them mid flight (preferably with headphones) they just have to be stored during takeoff and landing. -
I have a small laptop which I've used. They check it in the pat-down area, and once you're on board, you have to leave it off until you've taken off, but then they announce when you can turn it on and enjoy your movies...
