Can anybody recommend a financial counselor?

Specifically, someone affordable who can help me reorganize my portfolio? I've been doing it myself but I now want a pro's advice. Someone in the area so I can meet in person and not just over the phone. Also, not a scary, gruff person. Thanks!

Stacy Francis is very good (she spoke at an event I threw years ago). However, I think you might have to have a minimum portfolio for her to work with you (don't take my word for it, though).

You also may want to check into working with Galia Gichon at:
http://www.downtoearthfinance.com/ She also spoke at one of my events and I ended up hiring her as my financial planner. She is quite reasonable in terms of price.

What are these events?

I was the (volunteer) Executive Director of the NY chapter of an online international women's organization (list-serve) and would have quarterly events for my members with panelists, networking, and gift bags. I resigned 2 years ago after 5 years of leading the group (it was too much work with my full-time job) and the company has since folded.

Can anybody recommend a financial counselor?
