Thursday, April 20th - Happy Hour @ Soda

Hi all,

The poll results are in! uh. so yeah, most of you have shifty schedules. but the vast majority of folks who aren't shifty are available on Thursdays! so! let's try out a Thursday evening happy hour! I am planning to get there at 6:30 or 7. It's supposed to be gorgeous out, so shall we try to gather in the garden? I'll post tomorrow what I'm wearing (since I'm not a queer eye guy and don't plan my wardrobe a month in advance), but I also carry a gigantic black and white and silver purse.

anyone else interested?!

I should be able to make it!
  • I'm SO there!
  • I will not be able to make it this week (having dental work done) - please think of me and do a shot in my name :)
  • I'm going to try and make it... my first happy hour with you all, and my first time at Soda... (and I am not even going to ask you where it is.... I'll just do a search of old topics...)
  • Yay for new people!

Stacey, I am sorry about the dental work. I hope you lay in some ice cream for afterwards...or maybe Mr. Softee will oblige.

  • for those who don't know me, this is what I'm wearing today:
a black cardigan (which will probably not be on if it really is 80 degrees this evening) and a dress made out of this heinous vintage pattern (yes, that really is orange, yellow, black and white. HEINOUS.):

  • Thanks Emily and Alafairnadia - I just may swing by after the dentist (with my dribble cup) :)

nope. they make my butt look big. this dress is slimming.

I'm TOTALLY going to peg my jeans --- for everyone's amusement

(bet that's the excuse I used to get started back in the 80s, KILL ME NOW).

"hey guys! I rode my bike over!"
    ...
"well, it's a funky bike - I had to peg both sides. you know."
    ...
"fashion? oh. I forgot to unroll my pants when I came home today. but they're kinda comfortable this way. my ankles are really bony."
  • Maybe we should all peg our jeans at Soda so as to recognize each other. Potential downside: newbies end up accidentally spending evening with unrelated hipsters.
  • oh, snap, the one week when I have plans Thursday night, the happy hour migrates there. Crapness. I'll totally renew my presence when classes are over...next week...oh, sh*t.

    yay!

Oh god that made me spit coffee from my nose. Thanks a lot EmilyM
  • I'll pry be there with KosherDave and a cigar.

PM me before 4.30 if you'd like me to bring a cigar for you, or forever hold your peace.
  • I vote we call this the ProHo Happy Gentrification Hour.
  • BrookFetish wrote: I'll pry be there with KosherDave and a cigar
Wait, "Kosherdave and a cigar" how very Bill Clinton of you. I'm not sure I should go now...
  • great to meet you all tonight.

hopefully, you all were able to see how awesome i really am.

Same to you. However, I won't believe how awesome you are until you show up with the Bedazzled granny cart with underlighting.
  • Pay attention.

I'm awesome. also, I can drink absurd amounts of cider without falling down. which makes me MORE awesome. oh right. no one else is as awesome as me. who else has BRUNCH at white castle? not you!!

Did you mug a deck of playing cards and steal that from one of the royals?

    Just sayin'....
  • so did anyone show up with pegged jeans? need to know!
  • kosherdave, BrookFetish and I all rolled up our jeans/pants for a little while. I left mine like that for an hour but crossed my ankles and hid them under my chair. No pictures were taken, to the best of my knowledge.

not all of us are rich yuppies who can afford new clothes. I got that at the salvation army - it was the best they could do.:cry::cry::cry:

I used to be able to buy the stuff I needed at the Salvation Army. Now that you yuppies and hipsters have moved in and decided that the S.A. is a cool/hip place to shop, I can't get what I need to furnish my house and clothe my family.

    Get out of my neighborhood.
