  • True. When you mix money, problems occur. I'll only put down the money to buy him off the internet. After that, he better get to workin' or get out!
  • she sounds like a winner to pawn off to some unsuspecting evil guy as a prize :p.
  • You know what I hate? These psychos never have a problem meeting someone.
  • Seriously? If I was living with someone and got kicked out, my instinct would not in a million years be to move in with mom—I'd be on craigslist apt hunting and getting my life back together. IMO, if your instinct is to mooch off your boyfriend/gf or mooch of your parents, then getting kicked out of either sitch has been a long time coming.
  • Yeah I hear you but if you have no money and nowhere else to go well then it's back with mom & dad, if they will take you, or else it's homeless shelters or worse.

Hopefully she will get fed up (at everything including this thread) and say, "I'll show them all!!!"
  • IMO, friends are best used for emotional/moral support and family is best for taking advantage of, um, I mean financial (including living arrangements) support.

Maybe I'm cold-hearted (or just shy/private to a fault), but I have very few friends that I could imagine sleeping on my couch (or the other way around) in that situation without it greatly damaging the friendship. My friends are dear but I like to think we will not encourage each other to self-destruct :)
  • I have couch surfed at various times and was always extremely thankful that my friends let me stay with them. I limited the amount of time I spent at each to a few nights and made dinners and bought wine in thanks. But just like food, overnight guests get pretty stale for me after about five days.
  • I just read your thread about the cat. I kind of want to meet your friends, or maybe just sit at the table next to you at a restaurant and listen to the conversation :)

If only to feel better about my own life!!
  • Amen!
  • Hey, we're all drama queens in our own write.
