Oh no, you received a comment or two. For that you use the word Nazis. They must have been horrific comments.
I have seen stroller Nazis virtually run regular pedestrians off the sidewalk. Never mind cluttering the front of certain shops so even an Olsen twin couldn't squeeze in. If I am walking my dog (on a leash and I PICK UP) I have gotten a comment or two - keep that dog away from the stroller. However, when I had a dalmatian it was thought to be totally appropriate for some irresponsible parent to let the child run to my dog - without even asking if the dog was child friendly. THAT is what I mean by the worship of the child. Everything must revolve around MY child .
Yes, any parent that lets their child run up to a dog without asking first is irresponsible, but not a Nazi.
I am sure you are the perfect dog owner. But I have seen dog owners walk their dogs while drinking a cup of coffee, smoking a cigarette, and talking of the phone all while their dog was peeing on a flower garden.
Is that dog owner a Nazi? no. Does he make me want to make blanket statements about all dog owners? No. He is just a jerk. -
Sorry Winston - clarification: I refer to stroller Nazis as those who run you down while your back is turned or run you off the sidewalk since they think they automatically have the right of way. No apologies or excuses - just WHACK! right on the heel. Not all parents that use strollers are Nazis - most are polite but there are quite a few that are downright aggressive. THOSE are the Nazis.
I refer to the parents who let the kiddies run up to a dog as irresponsible - not Nazis.
And although I would not classify myself as the perfect dog owner, I do owe a responsibility to my neighbors to control my pet and respect their space. I walk the dog on a short leash, keep to the curb and do not multi-task - you are endangering your pet as well as others if you do not pay full attention. -

Sidewalks are crowded, bumping happens. Apologizes are due
Ramming with a stroller is wrong. -

Meh, I don't see why anyone would care if a baby is in a bar. Frankly, most new parents could do with a drink. As long as the parents aren't shushing you, let 'em knock one back.

I dont mind babies in a bar but taking SHOTS while HOLDING A CHILD seems sort of.... not ok.

I cant stand Kids, they are all annoying little punks in my book.
But, I never get bothered by strollers or kids running up to my dog.
They are kids, they dont know better, and I can see how it is tough for a parent to watch over every move.
I try to curb my dog when kids come over, though he is friendly, the occasional bark is bound to happen.
I am happy to inconvenience myself a bit for someone who has a 24/7 job bringing up a kid.
Kids in bars dont bother me either as long as they dont cry, when they do its clear they are unhappy and the parent should leave, can always pick up a 6 pack on the way home. -

Because I have seen more than one child under walking age (so what is that, 1-2 years old?) being fed clearly raw tuna rolls outside of the co-op. Im seriously asking... maybe its fine but it seems like mercury would be an issue for someone that young. Give the kid some cherrios for gods sake.
No, I don't think it's safe at all. Not surprising coming from the co-op though. Seriously, forget strollers, all I see lately is the freaking co-op "employees" wearing those stupid neon orange and yellow vests pushing their sacred shopping carts.
What exactly are you basing this on? My cousin's wife is Japanese and their kids have been eating sushi ever since they could eat solid food. Japanese women also eat sushi while they are pregnant. Maybe they just avoid fish with high levels of mercury or its just a matter of eating it in moderation.
I've always heard about the levels of Mercury being dangerous for young kids and pregnant women. Don't eat it myself so I could be wrong.
I just googled and found this:
"Links To Articles On Pregnancy And Sushi
To begin we would like to reprint the Mercury Levels - Which Fish Is Safe - list from FDA/EPA:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration considers mercury levels below 1 part per million acceptable, though it warns against shark and mackerel, too. The Environmental Protection Agency has a lower threshold, about 0.2 ppm.
FISH MERCURY (PARTS PER MILLION)
Tilefish 1.45
Swordfish 1.00
Shark 0.96
King mackerel 0.73
Largemouth bass 0.52
Tuna (fresh or frozen) 0.32
Tuna (canned) 0.17
Salmon 0
In the 1950s, women in Minimata, Japan, exposed to high levels in fish gave birth to children with grievous birth defects. Since then, it has become clear that even low levels of mercury exposure in women can cause neurological problems in their children, affecting language, hearing, and movement. Today, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 8 percent of American women of childbearing age have blood mercury levels that could endanger their children. As a result, over 60,000 children are born each year at risk of lifelong problems, according to the National Academy of Sciences. Young children also can be harmed by mercury in the food they eat, because their brains are still actively developing.

sorry, babies and/or kids don't belong in bars, period! Bars are for boozing it up and being raucous/having a good time, i don't want to be sitting in a bar and have to worry that there is a child next to me, it is totally out of line IMO. the parents need to get a babysitter if they want to hang in a bar, especially at night. -

Maybe stroller Moms and dog owners can have their own neon vests, different neon colors of course, so both groups can see each other coming and cross the street. Hey, and one for Fido too. -

I agree, it's ridiculous. All the people around are also out for a good time and don't want to have a baby or kid in their presence. Some even got sitters so they could go out. And standing outside exposing your baby to smoking is also not a good idea. -
