Meetings in May

Would you mind explaining the difference (if you happen to know) between the precinct, community and association meetings? I've been to one precinct meeting but not the other two, and I'm wondering how they differ/what they cover. Thanks!

I didn't copy down the info for the meeting yesterday and the site was down. I assume the next meeting will be the second Monday in June right?

Community Board 8 meeting is Thursday, May 11, 2006, 7:30pm, Berean Missionary Baptist Church, 1641 Bergen Street (corner of Rochester)

Crown Heights North Association meeting is May 24, 2006, 6pm, St. Gregory's Church, St. Johns & Brooklyn.

Just a note: the CHNA meeting on May 24 is not it's regular meeting but one called by the Landmark Preservation Commission to announce it's intent to landmark some sections of northern North Crown Heights. The meeting is being co-sponsored by Councilman Al Vann.

The meeting will be at 7 PM (not 6). The meeting will be at St. Gregory the Great RC School, next to the church building. This should be a very important meeting in preparation for the long-awaited landmarking, so if you live in the North Crown Heights area, you should make every effort to attend.
