Takes several minutes to load, but really fascinating. Good news: nobody's been stabbed on my block!

East of Bedford is lookin' kinda scary, though.

    dear mod,

this is already on the ny & beyond thread. :)
  • Oh my Maude. I am SO busted.
  • That map takes forever to load. It's like they have a dial-up on the other end!
  • This map is under-reporting in our hood. I personally saw three {assumed}drug-related murders on Washington in the last few years. {dead bodies on the sidewalk the next morning}. They are not listed here. :?

Yeah, I thought there was at least one on Lincoln and Washington that was discussed here over the past year.

I have problems with you assumption. Just because they were dead and on the sidewalk, you assume it was drug related? People have heart attacks all the time, you know, just because it's not in Park Slope doesn't mean poor people can't also die randomly of natural causes.

    LOCK YOU AORTAS!!!
  • Nice one, PO. This is like a corrollary of GentriConfrontation.

I'd like to see this map circa "before yuppies" and see how different things were, back in the good ol days. PS looks pretty damn safe in this map, guess I picked a good neighborhood to move into and gentrify.
  • It loaded pretty fast for me. I didn't see the murders in the park that had been talked about recently.

That's understandable. The latest stats listed are from 2005.
  • finally got it to load. it looks totally wrong to me.

i thought the latest murder was linked to some from a few years ago, no?
  • Oh jeez. I may be moving into one of the spots with a bunch of little blue flags. Not that it will stop my little white midwestern ass--the rent is cheap and its right across the street from the park.

That's right! I'm going to ruin another one of the old-school hoods.
