Digital TV Connection Problems

Is anyone else without Cable TV who uses an indoor antenna having problems with Channel 2/CBS reception? I scanned the channels with the menu feature and have more channels than ever before with my new flat screen digital TV but no Channel 2/CBS. Any suggestions or are others having the same issue?

  • I was having problems with abc and called them up. You have to manipulate the rabbit ears. The best thing to do is to get an amplified antenna.
  • I have an amplified antenna and I have manipulated the rabbit ears!

I'll try calling CBS tomorrow. What did ABC say?
  • i had the same problem. the signal seems to have changed names. Does your absent CBS channel have a name displayed on screen? My guess is the name displays as WCBS-HD. What you want is WCBSDT. However rescanning the channels fixed the problem for me.
  • I'll try and rescan again. Is there anyway to tell it to give you a certain channel? What I see on Channel 2/CBS is blurry and has text scrolling across explaining how to use the converter box. I don't see a name -- it's too unclear. Thanks.
  • I can't get WLIW (one of the PBS stations--I think channel 21). I never got it too well before, but I could at least see and hear it. Now, I can't get it at all. I've wondered if I'm the only one.

Edit: Here in Windsor Terrace, I get CBS and ABC perfectly.
  • I got two coupons for the DTV transition when I thought I wasn't going to get cable. then i got it. if anyone needs one free please let me know privately!
  • What is this "antenna" of which you speak?
  • I get CBS 2-1 fine, unpowered antenna and no adjusting. It is right next to the window though and I'm on the fifth floor so it's unobstructed.
