BBG CHERRYWATCH

The Botanic Gardens keeps a nice little map updated to show you when, where, and IF the cherry trees are blooming.
They've started around the pond . . .

That's a cool map/feature!
Wife and I walked by the museum today. The two rows of trees up front are blooming... and the magnolias in the garden looked great last weekend, I can only imagine that they're more full now...
Now if these damn clouds would just go away... -
I skipped work yesterday and hung out at the botanic gardens. the cherry blossoms were amazing -- in full bloom. it might be worth it to go this week and avoid the weekend craziness with the festival...

I'm heading to the fest instead of poker today, it will be crazy but it's my only day off... I like cherry blossoms

Clearly most of NYC likes cherry blossoms, too, as the crowds at the BBG were INCREDIBLE on Sunday. The whole area was packed with a great vibe outside the museum, in Prospect Park and down Washington with lines of people outside the Islands, Cafe Shane and other spots.
There were people from every borough, plus Westchester, NJ and CT at the garden (judging by overheard chats).
I know the people on this board have clearly been Brooklyn fans for a long time, and the oft-written-about "Brooklyn revival" is old news at this point, but I couoldn't help but feel a special pride on Sunday. -

I quite agree, It was cool to see people commong from all over and then l leave and walk home when they drive back to Jersey or the bronx. It was a great time, lots of people but not too crowded, always a spot under the blossoms to relax and great performances, I watched the dready chick from Gen sushi do some weird traditional(?) Japanese dance with some other women. it was actually very very cool, tho if I explained it, it would sound sutpid, I had a great time.
untill they ran out of Sake
Howdy, Stranger!
