Good GP / PCP in Williamsburg or Greenpoint? — Brooklynian

Good GP / PCP in Williamsburg or Greenpoint?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't find any answers when I do a search.

Can anyone recommend a good primary care physician in Greenpoint or Williamsburg, one that takes Empire BCBS?

If not, I'd take recommendations for a doctor off the L train in the city. Just hoping to find someone who's easy to get to when I'm sick. Thanks in advance!

  • I know Manhattan Medical in Greenpoint takes a lot of insurance, probably EBCBS. It's also easy to get an appointment there.
However, they're not great doctors, IMO. More like prescription writers. If you need antibiotics or something like that, they're ok, but if you need, y'know, comprehensive care, you should go somewhere else.
Dr. Kudej is the best one I've seen there so far.
If you find someone you like, please let me know!
    The pediatrician there is excellent.
  • For the past year I've been going to Gramercy Park Physicians which is at Union Square.

Call 'em, one of their docs might take your insurance.

  • I've been to Manhattan Medical and you're totally right. Think I saw my PCP for 10 minutes (after a long, long wait). It was for a general check-up, so I wasn't pleased.

I ended up finding someone off the 6th ave stop, not as close as I hoped, but he's got a calm office, easy scheduling, he takes my insurance, and he also has training in integrative / alternative medicine. So it's worth going to the city.

  • Hey, who is the person you found off 6th ave ? I am looking for a new GP and am interested in someone that is not just a prescription writer, but someone who actually listens to what is wrong with you.. I have aetna insurance

    Thanks!
  • Forget about doctors in greenpoint they are all morons.
  • Here's the doc:

He's at a sports medicine clinic, but is a family practice doctor and does integrative medicine. Not quite just off the 6th ave stop, but walkable! It looks like they take your insurance too.

One bonus about it being a sports medicine clinic...no sick children in the office!
