I deleted the thread (as well as your screed above), as it started off on the wrong foot and didn't get any better from there. If you want to discuss the Ratner issue with people from Park Slope or Prospect Heights, don't start off your attempt at a discussion by insulting residents of both neighborhoods with your boorish generalizations. Keep it civil.
  • Was this the for it or against it post? I was following that. I respectfully object to not seeing the final bits, can it be emailed to me?

This whole site is so partisan (Obviously against the development) that Andy has placed his lackeys on alert for any post that is in favor for it.

This is exactly why I deleted your post - you make huge assumptions in the most obnoxious way possible. For the record, I am not against the development in it's entirety, but I do question the inclusion of the basketball stadium.

And I'd be glad to see a rational debate about this on the boards, but it doesn't seem like you're able to keep a discussion above the level of an elementary school playground argument.

Your version of rational subjective and it is delete/ omit anything Andy tells you to. You couldn't think outside of what he tells you to.
When you stop deleting posts (Like the previous one I initiated) then maybe I can believe you're rational. Hypocrite.
  • I'll say it again, as a member of the board, I would like to see the missing posts. I have seen some pretty objectionable content allowed to fester such as the one by original gangster or whatever it was.

As for guest, my opinion is you should register before you complain about board policy, but that's not the way it is so I'll shut up now.
  • [quote=steve]I'll say it again, as a member of the board, I would like to see the missing posts.quote]

Steve, I'd be careful not to ruffle any feathers. Andy's communist ideals are against anyone who denounces he empire.
He's, also, against the Ratner development because he believes in everyone having the same amount and going to work in a factory, with some 100,000 folk from pH, subsidized by the gov't.
  • Sorry for the delay in getting back with a response, but I had to wait for Andy to tell me what to say. He's going to get all of moderators Blackberry's so he can more switfly enforce the group think.

Steve - unfortunately, I did not save a copy of the thread before I deleted it. It's gone, but I can give you the gist: guest starts off by painting PH deniziens with a broad brush and some obnoxious comment, follows up with some other childish screed, at which point the thread totally devolved with the last two or three posts involving guest insulting those who did not agree with him/her.

Guest, you're free to discuss any P.S. related topic in these forums regardless if they're pro- or anti-Ratner. I really could not care less what your view is on the topic. However, if you're going to post, act like an adult and keep the name calling and insults out of it.
  • Thanks Daniel, I appreciate the effort. For the record, I would be willing to helpon the Park Slope board if you guys ever need someone. I am blackberry enabled for quick reprogramming by the mothership.
  • daniel wrote: However, if you're going to post, act like an adult and keep the name calling and insults out of it.
You lie, but then again I can't prove it because you've conviniently deleted the initial post.
  • Ah, the return of the original A.G.

Looks like we may have to disable anonymous posting on the PS board after all...

If you had more than one lifetime banning, why would you still want to be a part of the board....
  • a. yeah! Blackberries for all!

    b. ban guest posting on Slope boards

I think guest spewing is a time and energy black hole often enough, and I'd rather consolidate what precious little momentum this board has toward registered rants.
It's not like registering stops anyone from saying what they think...
  • ditto squared
  • yeah i'm not exactly sure why the site would allow anonymous posting, but that's just my humble opinion
  • pitu wrote: I think guest spewing is a time and energy black hole often enough
Why are you trying to impress me with your intelligent blabber. I'm a simple man, use simple elementary lingo
  • I'm not sure why anything was deleted in the first place, though since none of us can read the mysterious post, I guess we'll all have to wonder. But this is not a board for 15 year olds, so I think, despite what is written, or how childish it may or may not be, it should remain for all to read if they want to.
As for A.G. posting, I think that should be changed unless someone can come up with a good reason for keeping it. Most of the other posts I post on (bike forums, running, etc) require membership before you can post, but anyone can read them. It's free to become a member so it's not limiting anyone to make them spend 5 minutes or less to sign up.

Let's do away with the annon. guest posting. Though, who knows if that will really make a difference in the scheme of things.
  • Anonymous wrote: I'm a simple man
I think that says it all.
  • I've made my position on anon posting clear already, but I will add that i can't even think of another site i go to that allows anon posting.

You have a point, but from past experience with this particular person, the boards will quickly turn in to a mindless flamefest, which is what this guy's after... I'm actually surprised that his keyboard is still functional - you know he's punchin' the clown to every wrathful post that he can provoke.
  • I think he's just off his meds again.

Check out this "oldie but goodie" of his:

  • the oldie but goodie sounds like a joke to me, certainly nothing that would merit removal from the board.

that said, there are plenty of differing opinions on the ratner development on here. i for one, am in favor. id like to see no parking allowed and someone other than frank gehry slathering his starchitecture all over it, but overall, i think it's a good thing for brooklyn.

You've said enough, yet nothing significant

I love the fact that you've gone out of your way to confuse me with someone else. But then again, you're a frequent individual with plenty of time doing nothing

Deny all you want. Your new IP isn't fooling anyone. Anyone who reads your old posts and your current ones will have no doubt about who you are.

I think there were a lot of posts that were either edited or deleted. the classic AG posts were significantly longer and changed a lot as posts got deleted, edited or locked. he's a classic troll.

I love it when people who are posting a lot accuse others of having plenty of time to do nothing. I think EVERYONE posting has some amount of free time, or we would not be posting at all.

that didn't look like a joke at all to me.

on a related note: the best way to deal with stupid troll posts like this oldie but goodie is to lock it. provided it doesn't contain explicit or offensive material, locking is a good way to prevent unnecessary strife.

put the locked post out there for everyone to see as an example of what none of us want on the boards. locking (not deleting) also denies crazy consipary theorists some ammunition.

and again, anonymous posting should not be allowed.

(I submit these because they are hilarious, not as evidence of A.G.'s past trolling. For evidence of that you'd have to look at pretty much every thread from last summer.)

Also, boygabriel, we have tried locking threads, but it usually results in the person starting numerous new threads on the same topic, which is even more annoying.
