Hi, guys,

I just moved to PS and will likely need a mail box. Can anyone recommend a good place on 7th avenue or Prospect Park? I'm in South Slope.

Thanks! :)

  • ansonia chemist pharmacy on 7th btwn 10th and 11th has boxes at a good price. If it's not too far of a walk for you the post office on 9th btwn 4th and 5th is the cheapest. The UPS store on 7th btwn 8th and 9th also has boxes but I think they are the most expensive of the three.
  • I'll check into all three and compare them. Thanks, Ben!
  • the po boxes (usps) on 9th street btw 4th & 5th are horrible - worst service ever. just a heads up, it's miserable in there if you need to go on a regular or semi-regular basis.
  • There's a post office on 7th ave, I think around 2nd street. But I've never rented a PO box from them.

On 5th ave, between Lincoln and Berkeley (next to Arecibo car service -BTW my favorite car service) is a Mailboxes place that has been in business for over 10 years. It's well regarded by one of my apartment mates that has been using it for a long time. Nothing pretty about the place, very old school, but you can get everything done there. Faxing, copying, package pick-up, delivering. Definitely worth checking out if that's close to you.

Welcome to the nabe, where did you move from?
  • Ahh, okay. Thanks for those extra tips. I moved from Florida to be closer to publishing and the writer community. I fell in love with Park Slope when I was looking and knew I had to move here. :)
  • UPS store on 7th Ave between 8th and 9th.

Laundromat next to Lion in the Sun on 7th Ave.

I've used them both and they're both reliable. The Laundromat is cheaper and less busy.
