Fireworks in Brooklyn?

[EDITOR'S NOTE: There are unfortunately NO July 4th fireworks in Prospect Park. Here IS what is happening the holiday weekend at the Park. http://www.prospectpark.org/calendar/event/152066?preview=1&psid=0&ph=7018]

I heard we won't be able to see the Macy's fireworks in Brooklyn this year since they are doing them from the Hudson this year instead of the East River.

Any other places doing fireworks for the 4th? Prospect park maybe? The kids love watching the fireworks form the roof!

They don't show any fireworks on the schedule for the park on the 4th, their big firework night is usually new years eve. They'll have them on the 15th for the Philharmonic concert, I'm sure.

Coney Island has fireworks on the 3rd (and every friday night until labor day)

I thought they only did them for New Year's Eve and a few other special events during the summer (New York Philharmonic). But if so, this is good news!

hmmm...it's entirely possible that I am confused, but I do think I've seen them before on the 4th.

thanks for the info on the other nights, but 4th of july just isn't the same without fireworks! Hope there are some on the actual day somewhere

I agree. I think macy's screwed up by moving their display this year, and I'm betting there will be a lot of pissed off people when they figure out they can't see the fireworks from their usual favorite vantage points.

Anyone know if they routinely do fireworks for departures of the Queen Mary 2 from Red Hook? If so, she's pulling out tomorrow around 6PM....

Sucks ,no fireworks at Prospect Park for the 4th.

They set off fireworks at Coney Island every Friday night again this year.
