Guitar Teachers?

Anyone have recommendations and good experiences with guitar teachers? I'm looking for someone who makes house calls. Thanks.

  • I have private students and have taught guitar in Bronx public schools for the past five years. I live in Prospect Heights and make house calls as long as the house is reasonably convenient to get to. I like to think that my students have had good experiences and would recommend me:)

I gladly teach children or adults, though I prefer to teach beginners. Feel free to PM me for more info or references.
  • My guitar teacher rules. PM me if you would like more information.
  • Guitar Hero. :cough:

  • my husband is an experienced guitar teacher. He does house calls within a reasonable distance. Please PM me for his contact information.
  • A close buddy of mine is a great teacher and travels all around the city as well as Westchester and Rockland. Does blues, funk, jazz, classical and just about everything else in between.

  • Brooklyn Guitar School! They're great, taught me everything I know. In less than a year I went from knowing a few basic chords to playing open mics and starting up a band, plus I took what I learned and taught myself ukulele (which they also offer, by the way). I know I sound like an infomercial, but seriously, I learned a LOT in a pretty short amount of time.

I've taken classes with Michelangelo (mostly with him) and Shane -- both are great guys who are super knowledgeable and friendly. I've heard great things about Woody and Kyle too. Anyway, the school is an off-shoot of NYC Guitar School. I really can not recommend them more highly.
